Part of why I started making adult games is probably the same reason a lot of people think about making anything: because they look at what's available, and think "I don't like X, Y, and Z," and "I wish there were more A, B, and C." I personally want less violence, abuse, and hig
Pale Light , a short, free visual novel + puzzle game, will be coming out this year in time for Halloween! The game was intended for Halloween last year, but some last-minute hiccups prevented its release. The good news is, since it's already basically done, it will take very lit
After about a year being in Early Access, For One Year has received several new dateable characters, stronger seasonal theming, a new minigame (cooking!), new skills, new achievements, and more! Of course, more could always be added, but it feels like there's enough content now t
The title pretty much says it all! If testing wraps up early, expect a release as early as Thursday or Friday (the 10th or 11th this month); if testing reveals something super-nasty, it might be a few days later (the 14th, or possibly 15th). In the meanwhile, here's a little surp
Just a quick announcement to let you know that For One Year's next release, which will take the game out of early access, will be landing in about two weeks! All the major content is done and ready. There's just a little more testing to do, and perhaps a few more season-specific
For One Year update status Writing & artwork for Sylvie - the synesthetic painter who will be For One Year's next dateable character - is looking good! The broad strokes are in place, and all the little details are getting filled in. Next will be play-testing, tweaking, and y
It's time to start wrapping up For One Year! Since it's release last April, the game has seen many improvements and additions: new mini-games, graphics, skills, lore, and, of course, characters to date♥~ bringing the total number of hand-written dateable characters to 12! But lik
I've been hard at work on Hushberry Games' next game, One Possible Future , a sci-fi visual novel about a young woman who learns that the robots who work in her city are uniquely interested in their human cohabitants. One Possible Future is a much shorter game than For One Year -
For One Year has always represented the four seasons, and your romantic encounters may unfold differently depending on when they take place, especially during the colder months! If you haven't already given For One Year a try, take advantage of this 25% discount to enjoy the warm
This was one of the largest updates of For One Year! Adding three new characters was perhaps a bit overly-ambitious, and definitely caused the release to take longer than previous releases! And it wasn't just three new characters: a lot of changes and additions went into this upd
The next release of For One Year approaches! The major content additions, and a handful of smaller changes, are nearly finished. A few more lines of dialog; a couple more pictures; a thorough round of testing or two... and then it's time! Current estimated release date is in abou
You may recall that in the last update, only one new character was released... it seemed reasonable to expect the same for this release, yet, somehow, THREE new characters are nearing completion! Of course, the last release introduced the cooking mini-game, and that took a lot of
During development for the previous release, work had started on TWO new characters to meet: Nora the Inventor, and Anika... the Ghost! Anika didn't make it into that release, of course (though it's possible you've already found her Butterfly Charm necklace), but she'll absolutel
The full list of changes is available in the previous post. Please enjoy cooking, new music and visuals, and your time with Nora ;) As for the next release? It's currently impossible to say exactly when that will come out, and what all it will contain, but at the very least writi
Big stuff A new character to meet: Nora, a traveling inventor and salesperson. Try out her triple-shot bow, and heavy rod, while you're hiking the country! A new mini-game: Cooking! There are a variety of pots and pans you can collect to cook with. (Make sure to talk to Robin on
Work on the next release of For One Year is well underway. The two big updates in this release are the addition of Nora - a traveling inventor - and a cooking mini-game! Nora Nora is a traveling inventor selling her unique creations. Unfortunately you, the traveler, are much too
There's a new achievement, Bookworm, for seeing all the hints. The shopping skills have been changed: the first one now makes shopping cost no days at all!
The title pretty much says it all! I've coded up 6 new achievements real quick, and, yeah, am setting up to do some testing for a Mac build!
Travel! Survive! Have fun ;) For One Year is now available! I spent all last evening, and this morning, testing the game, cleaning up & clarifying some text, and cleaning up a few visual and audio issues. Just a reminder that For One Year is in early-access, but it is a fully
I've got a developers-only build of For One Year up and running in Steam now, to do the very final rounds of testing, and get Valve's final "yep, looks good!" seal of approval. Once I have that, I'll feel comfortable announcing a REAL, ACTUAL RELEASE DATE. Until then, I'm going t
