Heyho everyone,
Today is a very special day for us. 🦊🐸❤️
Woodo is officially out! 🥹
It feels a little strange to finally say that. For a long time, Woodo was just an idea in my head - a feeling I wanted to turn into a game.
I wanted to make something that feels a little like finding an old childhood toy in a box you haven’t opened in years. Something familiar that brings back a feeling you thought you had forgotten.
And now, after all this time, that little idea is finally yours to experience.
Woodo was never made by a huge team. There were times when it was mostly just Timur and me, trying to turn this unusual, little idea into something real.
Every diorama took countless hours to finetune, and along the way many more wonderful people helped us bring this world to life.
And then there was you. Every comment, wishlist, message and little heart-emoji you gave us throughout development meant more than you probably realize.
Please continue to share your own story about Woodo with us!
Maybe you’ll find a favorite character. Maybe a little diorama reminds you of your own childhood. Or maybe Woodo simply gives you a quiet moment in a busy day.
Whatever you take from it, we hope you enjoy your time with Foxy and Ben.
Thank you for being here. And thank you for giving our little game a chance. ❤️
Now it’s time to open the box.

With Woodo launching on September 16, it’s time for one final little glimpse into Foxy's world and her journey through playful childhood memories.
Our Launch Trailer is now live!
In this trailer, you can meet Ben and see that behind this beautiful wooden world, there is a small but touching story about summer, friendship, and precious little moments.
As you maybe can tell by the localized trailer - we were able to bring you Woodo in 8 different languages, which is an exceptional list for an indie title and makes us a little bit proud!
We can’t wait for you to finally experience all the other little details, love, and care we put into our cute little game next week. See you at launch!
Yours, Julia from Tiny Monks Tales & Daedalic Entertainment

Heyho everyone,
You might have already heard the news – Woodo has a release date! In just four weeks, you'll finally be able to accompany Foxy on her journey into her childhood memories when the game launches on September 16th.
As part of the final touches on the game, we have just completed the voice recordings and are delighted to announce that Woodo will be fully voiced in English and also in 7 additional languages: German, French, Russian, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese.
Here’s a little teaser to introduce Foxy's eight fantastic voice actresses:

Heyho everyone,
The recent years have been an exciting journey for us. We've welcomed incredible indie developers, published games across all kinds of genres, and continued to grow alongside the amazing communities, like yourself.
Today, we're excited to share the next step in that journey.
Over the past two decades, we have grown from a game developer into an international publisher working with talented indie studios from around the world. While a lot has changed, one thing hasn't: our passion for unique games and the people who create them.
To reflect who we are today - and where we're heading next - we're introducing our new visual identity.
The iconic feather remains part of our logo as a nod to our history, while our updated colors, typography, and overall design give us a cleaner and more modern look that better represents the diverse games and developers we work with.
But a new look deserves something to celebrate.
Daedalic Days - Late at Night
On August 13 at 9PM CEST / 12PM PST, we'll be going live with Daedalic Days - Late at Night, our biggest showcase dedicated to everything coming next from us and our development partners.
Expect brand-new announcements, exclusive reveals, fresh gameplay, updates on highly anticipated projects, and a few surprises along the way.
Additionally to talking about your all-time favorite Woodo, other games included are:
Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown
The Curse of the Crimson Stag
Ghost Haunting
Surviving Deponia
…and more
Whether you're here only for Woodo or maybe even heartfelt adventures, challenging strategy games, spooky experiences, cooperative fun, or narrative-driven worlds, we are sure, we will make it worth it for you.
You can watch the showcase live on Twitch, YouTube, and Steam.

👋😄 Hi, my name is Yulia,
and I came up with the idea for Woodo - a place that feels warm, safe, emotional in different ways, but always warm like home. 🍵 A place that exists somewhere inside all of us. A game that feels like a path back to memories we hold close, and to that quiet feeling of joy that lives somewhere deep inside us.
Woodo is like a childhood toy that’s been waiting to be hugged again.
You might find something familiar in Woodo if you loved Unpacking, A Little to the Left, the vibe of Florence, or the world of Studio Ghibli. Woodo is not a continuation of those games, of course, but maybe it shares something with each of them.
To make this journey feel a little warmer, throughout the game you’ll be accompanied by the voice of Miriam-Teak Lee - a West End actress and Olivier Award winner.
I came up with the narrator because I wanted every player to feel like there’s someone beside them, someone who cares that they’re there. Miriam plays a storyteller who genuinely wants to share her memories and feelings with you.
And since we’re talking about cozy things, we also support Steam Deck and gamepads, if you like playing curled up in your favorite chair surrounded by pillows. That’s honestly the only way I can play. 😆
And to keep some of the warm moments from the game, we added a photo mode so you can share your favorite moments with us on Discord or with friends on social media.
Please share them with us. We’d genuinely love to see them.
Speaking of the people who make Woodo what it is, we’re a small team. At first, it was just Timur and me. Then our friend joined us as a composer (who somehow found the time despite having 7 kids!), later we found the wonderful Mathilde, our sound designer who worked on ODDADA, and an animator who helped bring the world to life.
And now, near the end of development, it’s mostly just Timur and me again. But not in the same way as before. We’re surrounded by people who started to feel like part of the team, and by you - the kind players who’ve supported us with comments and little hearts throughout this whole journey.
For everyone who finishes the demo, we’ve prepared a little gift: a few soundtrack pieces from our composer. And I think anyone who made it through this long post deserves a link too. 😆 Here it is:
Hello to our dear followers, and to everyone who just wandered into our little cozy corner! ✨ New Languages! We added more languages so more people can experience and understand our story! The game now officially supports subtitles in 19 languages: Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (
Hello to our dear followers,
and to everyone who just wandered into our little cozy corner! ✨
New Languages!
We added more languages so more people can experience and understand our story! The game now officially supports subtitles in 19 languages:
And for the full version of the game, we’re planning to add voice-over localization for these languages too: German, French, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese.
Vibration 🎮
If you play with a gamepad, we’d love to hear how it feels to you.
And since we now have vibration, we thought… maybe it’s finally time to let console players join in too. So recently we released the demo on Xbox and PlayStation. 🥳🥳🥳 If your friends prefer consoles and still haven’t played Woodo, well… you know what to do. 😉
Achievements!
For the full game, we added 24 achievements. They’ll be visible not only on Steam but also inside the Story Book, in the achievements tab. We just think it feels cozier when everything can be viewed and kept inside the game itself.
Hidden monks
We also added a little object to search for in the levels as one of the achievements. It’s a tiny wooden monk.
Why a monk? Our company is called Tiny Monks Tales, and our little symbol is these tiny identical monks living in their own universe where fairy tales and space are connected in an endless journey of self-discovery.
In this game, the little monks will be exploring how a personal story told by one person reflects inside of you, how you interpret it, how you feel it.
How many levels?
You often ask how many levels the game will have.
12 in total + menu
Right now, the demo has 2 levels + a menu.
So yeah, it’s a small story, but a very visually dense one. Every scene takes months of handcrafting.
Several levels come together into chapters, and here’s what they look like.
And for those asking about the release date, for now we can only say this: Woodo is joining Steam Fest, which means the release is not too far away, and we definitely need to hurry. 😆

We’re excited to share that Woodo will be part of Steam’s Women’s Day Sale 2026! 🎉
from March 6 to March 10, 2026.
This sale celebrates games from teams led by women and gender-marginalized developers, and we’re proud to be included among so many inspiring creators.
Personally, I want to say a big thank you to WINGS. They consistently support teams like ours, even through small gestures like liking or sharing our posts.
They also provide incredibly helpful insights for small indie teams, making the bigger game industry feel more understandable and less intimidating. It creates a warm and safe space to grow. 💖
If you haven’t yet, now’s a great time to try the Woodo demo, leave your thoughts, and explore all the amazing games in this sale. 😁

Hey cozy villagers!
Long time no see, right?
Over the past month, we’ve been working on a big demo update based on your survey feedback. Thank you so much for your thoughtful responses and warm words. 🦊🧡🐸
Here’s what’s new in the demo:
Camera panning
Zooming in on objects
Improved controls
Hint system
Expanded settings
New tutorial
Progress bar
Camera panning
One of the most requested features is now in the demo! 🥳
You can pan when zoomed in on objects. It’s disabled in the default camera view (the view when you see the whole diorama and rotate around it), so you won’t accidentally discover our low-poly background secrets and imperfections. 🤭
Zooming in on objects
You can now click almost anywhere to zoom in. There are no more predefined focus points. Finally, full freedom to explore every little detail. Helpful for gameplay… and perfect for photo mode. ✨
Controls
Some of you told us your wrists hurt when playing with a mouse, so we made it more comfortable.
Now you can choose: drag and drop pieces, or click once to attach a piece to your cursor. Yes, it is so intuitive!
Since you no longer need to hold the mouse button, you can now rotate the scene while holding a piece. Gamepad users could already do this—now mouse users can too. 🥳
You can even zoom in (by clicking the object with the right button) while holding a piece!
Panning while holding a piece isn’t possible yet… but hopefully in the full release.
Hint system
Most of you don’t use hints because, I know, you enjoy the challenge. But we believe that simply knowing a hint is available makes the experience more relaxed. No pressure at all.
You can pick any (!) object in the Object Panel and see where it belongs. How cool is that! 😃
The hint works in two steps:
First, it moves you toward the right area
Then, it highlights the exact spot
This gives you a chance to figure things out yourself before the game becomes more direct.
You can also adjust how strong the highlighting is in the settings. Turn it off completely to see only the area, or turn it on to see the exact place immediately.
Expanded settings
Adaptive Assistance When it’s ON, the easiest pieces appear first in the Object Panel. These are usually bigger or have clearer shapes. As you place more pieces, the puzzle naturally becomes easier.
By default, the game watches your pace and decides whether assistance should be active.
You can turn it off at any time.
Magnetism
This controls the snap distance. Some of you asked to reduce it or remove it completely, so now you can adjust it yourself.
New tutorial
Many of you said the game feels intuitive, but we still believe a small tutorial in Foxy’s notebook can help you feel more confident and not get lost.
It was such a pleasure to create these little pages. I really love how they turned out. Do you? 😄
Progress Bar
Last but not least, we added a progress bar so you always know how many pieces are still ahead of you. We got inspired by real-life Lego sets. 🤭
If you’ve read this far, you’re definitely a Woodo fan, and we appreciate it so, so much! 💖
And if you’re new here, here are a few simple things you can do:
• Play the demo • Let us know your thoughts • Leave a comment on the demo page. We read them all • Share the demo with friends. Maybe they’ll love it too

Woodo you like to hear the story I promised last time? 😁
This one has a bit of Christmas fairytale magic in it. It’s the story about how our composer found his way to Woodo.
Once upon a time, when I had just started sharing the very first Woodo concepts on Instagram, a nice person made a short video about the first room I ever modeled for the game.
At that time, he was just beginning his journey in 3D art and was reposting scenes by other artists to learn from and to try making connections. It worked! He caught my attention, and that’s how our friendship began.
One day, I told him I was preparing a video for the Wholesome Games Showcase (a showcase for cozy games) and complained that I had no idea where to find music for it. Unexpectedly, he told me I could use a song he had written a long time ago, and it just so happened to be about nostalgia and childhood memories, just like Woodo!
I didn’t even know he was a composer! 😱
He explained that he used to compose music, but after burning out, he had stepped away and turned to 3D art instead. He wasn’t even sure if he ever wanted to make music again!
Anyway, this showcase video was the reason our publisher first noticed Woodo.
I asked him if he would ever consider being the composer for the game, but he said he wasn’t interested. This was 2020. Then several years passed…
In 2024, we finally signed a publishing contract, And Don finally became our composer! 😁
- But, hey Don, could you fill in some gaps?
Don:
- Sure!
Despite years of playing in a rock band as a teenager and my old bandmates making fun of me for being a “game music nerd”, I always knew from an early age that I wanted a life in music composition for games.
As the years went on, though, getting married and having kids, this higher priority to provide for my family was always there. But my love for music never stopped…
I created stock music tracks weekly. Built an online guitar teaching website on my weekends. I would even teach 1 on 1 private guitar lessons just before my ~OVERNIGHT~ shift as gas station manager. All with a growing family (And I wonder why I like coffee so much! 😅).
Then, after years of this type of “always grinding” non-stop schedule, the unthinkable happened.
I suddenly had no joy in music anymore. I was completely burned out and totally overloaded. Something finally had to give.
I spent the next several years trying new ways to fill the creative/music void in my life. Like Julia mentioned, one of these was 3D art, which was how we met.
Many years passed and after a very long break, I finally started to get my musical drive back. Julia asked me again to be the composer for the game, and I agreed. A childhood dream, finally come true!
So after all these years, our friendship has not only grown, but now, we are friends, making a game about friendship!
This is obviously a very condensed version of the last 25 years or so of my life, but, it just goes to show you that you never know what path will eventually lead you to your dreams!
- Thank you, Don, for your story!
Am I proud? Yes!
I'm proud that Woodo was the thing that finally helped him find his way back to what he loves, and we got such a good and passionate composer. I'm really grateful for the chain of events that led us both here.
I truly believe that these things are not accidental at all and that this magic will be converted into magic you can see, and hear, in the game.
Wish all of you who celebrate a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 🥰🎄

Hey Woodo followers and Steam travelers!
Today, we’re excited to present the Storybook. ✨📖✨
We’ve carefully read the comments you left in our survey after playing the demo (btw, we have 5,500+ responses now that's so awesome!), and we noticed several types of players, many asking for an additional way to listen to the story unfold... and since this game is all about the story, we decided this update should meet the needs of as many players as possible.
This update for:
🙌 those who like the story but need to pause the game to read
🙌 those who miss lines because the subtitles move too fast
🙌 those who forget to read because they get too absorbed in the gameplay
🙌 those who prefer silence for an ASMR-like experience
❤️ We also wanted to keep the update exciting for those of you who already love everything about the game, so we added short stories about some of the villages. We now have 4 new stories in the demo, translated by excellent translators.
(I want to thank those of you who love the game! Your feedback makes me so smiley. 😊)
Summary:
—————————————
📖 You can now play without narration and still enjoy the story.
📖 You won’t miss any text lines – play without worry.
❤️ Bonus: learn more about our quirky characters.
—————————————
We have been doing this update for a few months, and it took more time than we expected. (I think this is the usual developer excuse.😆) Still, we are happy with where we ended up.
I want to share some behind-the-scenes screenshots for you:
Concept in Blender with 2 different color palettes.
It is just 2D assets. But we tried to make it look like 3D.At this stage all the simple parts were over. 😅
Implementing inside Unity—truly a headache! With different languages, we tried to ensure all the text was readable and looked good on the pages.
And the last part (most satisfying for me as an artist) - drawing illustrations on iPad.
+ Map Upgrade ————————————— Almost all of you asked about this! Finally, you can interact with villages on the map. 😁🙌
Thanks for reading, and we hope you will like this update. 😚 Tell us your opinion in the feedback form in the demo or write to us on the Woodo Discord to share your thoughts directly.
————————————— In our next news, we’re going to share a fantastic story about how I met our composer and how we began working together. Every part of this story feels like pure magic to me, and I can’t wait to share this little fairy tale with you.

Hi, you most dearest of followers! 🤗💛
Thank you so much for playing the demo and sharing tons of feedback with us.
We’ve received more than 4,200 responses, and that’s huge! We’re truly grateful!
Just see how many of you like the game:
Reading your warm, supportive, and funny thoughts has been pure joy. Whenever I need to cheer myself up, I go back to the question, “What do you like about Woodo?” and it honestly feels like therapy. 🤭
We carefully read everything you wrote and already made a plan for future updates. ✍️
Over the past days, we released a few patches to fix the most obvious issues, and now we’re preparing bigger improvements based on your feedback.
Here are the main things we’re going to work on:
Improving controls
Adding Foxy’s diary, where players (especially non-native English speakers) will be able to reread the narrator’s lines without worrying they missed something during gameplay
Expanding localization into some more languages
We are also considering your other ideas and working on the rest of the game, of course!
If you enjoy playing and want to support us, you can wishlist the game or leave a review on Steam - it has a huge effect! 😌

You can't believe how giddy we are - the little duckling in the picture already knows what's up:
The Woodo demo is out today, and we're so excited to finally present (parts of) what we have been working on! ✨🥳 ✨
Whether you're joining us out of curiosity or simply love cozy games, we're so glad to have you with us! We hope Woodo brings you a little comfort and joy. If our bite-sized, puzzle vacations make you smile or let you re-discover this special warm & fuzzy feeling deep inside, then we've done our job right. 💛🤗
A few things to know before you jump in:
Gamepad support is available!
You can play the demo with a controller. Just a heads-up: vibration feedback isn't polished yet, so it's turned off by default for now.
Steam Deck status: early support
Woodo is playable on the Steam Deck, but touchscreen functionality hasn't been implemented yet. The game hasn't been tested or optimized specifically for Steam Deck, so your experience may vary.
We'd love your feedback!
If you finished our demo, a short survey will pop up for you. It would help us, as a (very) small Developer Studio a lot, if you could fill it out for us. This way, we can guarantee that no detail of feedback gets lost - Every thought matters, because big things grow from small seeds!
Want to celebrate with us? Come join our freshly created Discord Server! 👋😚

Hi everyone! 🦊
Maybe you’ve seen our latest posts on social media, but in case you missed it: We introduced the narrator's voice of Foxy!! Because cozy wooden animals NEED a soothing voice to express themselves properly, right?
So, we’re thrilled to introduce you to Miriam-Teak Lee, the talented voice actress behind our protagonist Foxy! In the video below, you’ll find a heartwarming and cozy interview where she talks about her childhood, her experience as a voice actress and how she feels Woodo might resonate with players.
Enjoy the video! We hope you’ll be just as delighted as we are to meet Miriam-Teak Lee!

Hey there dear friends of coziness,
We want to share with you the process of making Woodo! This is why we decided to introduce you to our Woodo Dev Diary where we plan to give you an insight into the changes and improvements during development.
🎉 Finally, We Can Share the Map!
We’re excited to show you the level selection map for our game — it’s visually close to being finished! The map itself is rendered as a static image, but to achieve the right shadows, we built a simple 3D structure underneath it. Since we’re using an orthographic camera, the shadows align perfectly with the 3D objects, creating the illusion that they’re cast over a flat 2D surface. 🗺️✨
🔍 How It Works in Unity
Here’s a GIF showing how it looks in Unity. We opted for this approach to optimize performance — a fully 3D scene would be too heavy, and we wouldn’t be able to reach this level of quality. However, the characters on the map will still be in 3D, so we can animate them later on. It was quite a challenge to get the 3D shadows to blend naturally with a 2D image, but we’re happy with the result! 😅👌
🐸 Adding Some Life to the Map
We haven’t implemented any animations yet, but we tested importing a few simple ones — like a frog 🐸 and a watermill 🌊 — to see how it would work. As you progress through the levels, the map will gradually fill with color 🎨, and the characters in that section will start animating. We hope this gives you an extra goal — a meta-objective — to complete every level and see the entire map come to life! ✨
🎮 Button Animations
We’ve also been working on button animations:
🔓 Unlocking new levels 🎯 Selecting a level 🚪 Transitioning to a level For the large "Play" button, we plan to show your progress with a subtle ring around it. 🔄
🛠️ From Concept to Reality
And here’s a look at where it all started. It began as a simple blockout in Blender. I (because I handle the visuals 🎨) first sketched out the overall look, defined the main locations in the game, and then figured out how to reflect them on the map.
We hope you enjoyed hearing more about our process! Let us know what you think! 🤗
There are exciting times ahead and we can't wait to share it with you!
