Hey everyone! August marks 1 year since an important conversation between the Creej's Corruption team. 1 year ago was when we decided would be completely trashing our project and restarting from scratch, one last time. As you guys may know already, ever since I started developing this game my ambitions and plans for the final product kept growing, from the prototypes, to the alphas, to the demo, to the scrapped project, each time we've restarted our project it's grown significantly, with our current project size being over 500 Gigabytes in size.
Technically, this game is an indie game, there is a team of under 5 people working on it and only 1 developer, but the scope of this project is far past indie. This game is doing something I've personally never seen done in the gaming industry before; that being such a huge game with such a small budget and team. It feels surreal.
But what's even more surreal to me is how I genuinely think we will pull it off. Is it going slow? Yes. Have there been times I've wanted to cancel everything? Yes. Have we cancelled things in the past? Yes. But I know for a fact we will get it done.
I would assume most of you think the game is moving along really slowly or we haven't been working much on it due to the lack of content we usually show, but in the background we are doing as much as we can as fast as we can. The scope of the game is pretty much set in stone by now, I know what I want the game to be, and I know you guys are going to love it. But there is something important that needs to be said.
Creej's Corruption will not be launching in 2026. There is simply no possible way we can finish creating the game we want this project to be in under 5 months. Our new release window is the second half of 2027.
I understand this is disappointing news for everyone, and I know some of you may have seen it coming or assumed this would happen. However, the game is later in development than some of you may think, nearly all of the fundamental systems and mechanics needed for the final product are already in the game and in a polished state. By the end of the year we aim to be focusing mainly on the games content and story. We plan to show more about the game later this year. Thank you guys for continuing to stick with me through our development journey. It's not over yet, but this is the closest we've ever been.
