Hello!
Slumberer's Universe is now available on MacOS 11+, with native Apple Silicon builds!
MacOS builds used to exist on the demo version, but were later removed due to the lack of testing support. However, the game has now been tested again on MacOS. Due to Apple's way of handling applications, the game will only be released on Steam, at least for now. Also, the MacOS build has been updated to run natively on Apple Silicon chips (M1 onwards), instead of the older x86 builds.
There is no difference compared to the Windows / Linux versions.
Thanks once again and if you are on a Mac, then please try Slumberer's Universe out!

Bug fixes:
Fixed the title screen becoming black and unresponsive after changing the "Screen effects" setting from 'Reduced' to 'Full' if the option hadn't been changed since the last start.
Fixed multiple grammatical errors (thanks to JasonK!)
Ensure that options that are not meant to be changed to stay in their default values (thanks to JasonK!) Note: if you know what you're doing, these options can still be overridden after you load your save file.
Fixed the startup video volume not following the game audio volume option (Thanks to an anonymous user!)
Fixed the name of "???" showing wrongly in one case in chapter 4.
Fixed certain options not persisting when loading an older save file after modifying the settings.
Miscellaneous changes:
Updated the snow pile graphics in chapter 3.
Updated the circle selector sprite in certain areas.
Made small changes to the text box graphic's colours.
Added a new settings selector sprite.
The text sound effect option has been replaced by "Text sounds effects" option, which you can now disable to mute the character talking sounds.
The demo now follows the full game version naming convention (updated from 1.7.2 --> 1.0.5). This is made to simplify which version of the demo is equivalent to the full game.
Added the text "demo" into the title screen in the demo version to make it easier to identify if you are playing the demo version.
A few weeks ago, a vulnerability was found in the 'ws' node package that this game uses to connect to Discord RPC. This did not affect any users, but the package was updated as soon as the vulnerability was found out to patch the issue.
Thanks to everyone who reported the bugs as well as provided general feedback who made this update possible! Thank you for your interest in Slumberer's Universe, and if you'd like, please join our Discord community!

Hello!
Slumberer's Universe is back, and this time with an interactive developer commentary!
The developer commentary tells everything about the development process of the game, and my experience with it. It has a LOT of information packed in it, about many different sides of development. There are explanations of different story elements, the technical challenges (and also solutions to problems), and my own thoughts regarding what I've made!
If you're an RPG Maker developer, or you are developing a game with any other engine, you might learn some stupid mistakes I've made and how to avoid them! If you're just a player, you too might learn a bit about game development. It's fun, I say!
The commentary mode is enjoyed interactively while playing the game. You will find various text bubbles all around the game, which you can interact with. The commentary is only available when starting a new game. If you haven't played Slumberer's Universe beforehand, do not enable the commentary, as it contains heavy spoilers for the whole game!
Of course, the update also includes other minor fixes:
Minor enemy balance changes
Minor dialogue updates
Added better icon symbols for key / button hints for keyboards and XBOX controllers
Slightly reduced dodge window timings for controller users
Fixed rain sound not playing in chapter 2
Slightly edited the title song after finishing the game
Fixed multiple minor bugs and visual issues
Fixed window duplication bug on certain Windows 11 devices (unfortunately this breaks Steam overlay; as of now, there is nothing I can do to fix this, as this is an issue with Chromium)
And lastly, I know that this kind of update may not be interesting for, like, anyone. It's mainly just me sorting out my thoughts and looking back at the development, but if you're interested, please take a look at it!
Anyway, until next time. When is next time? Is next time tomorrow? Is it after one month? After one year? Never? I don't know yet, but join our awesome Discord community in the meantime! It's small, but it's cozy and fun.

Hey,
Just a quick announcement that the soundtrack has been released. If you have any interest in listening to any of the songs, just go download it! It's free after all! You won't regret it. That is, if you enjoyed the music in the game in the first place. There's surprisingly much to listen to! It'd take an hour and 37 minutes of your life to play everything from start to end.
(P.S: the release was supposed to be yesterday, but I forgot to press that funny green release button. Anyway, a small delay doesn't matter... right..?)
That's it for this time. If you're longing for more Slumberer's Universe content, join the Discord server!
I'm pretty regularly releasing and showcasing new content that are only barely related to Slumberer's Universe. They're funny though. The community's awesome too, even though it has no active members.
Bug fixes (Big thanks to JasonK for finding most of these!): Fixed a very rare crash related to the talking animation. Updated the description of the "Rock throw" skill that previously had incorrect information in it. Fixed a softlock that required save reloading in the prologue.

Miscellaneous changes:
The fatal damage filter is automatically removed in a specific scene in chapter 2.
The demo will be also updated soon.
And lastly, huge thanks to the tiny but awesome community and everyone who has played Slumberer's Universe!

Hello everyone!
Right now, the full game of Slumberer's Universe has finally been released! After over four years of development, I can confidently say the game has been finished at last. I've worked hard for this moment, and it is an enormous event for me. I hope you will enjoy playing it as much as I have enjoyed making this game. The game will take about 8 - 11 hours to play through.
For those who had previously played the demo, many improvements have been made to the overall game experience, as well as the first chapter, so you can expect an even more polished experience with the full game.
If you haven't played the demo yet, but are interested in the game, go try that out! You can play the prologue AND the first chapter for free with the demo, and you can even continue playing with you demo's save file in the full game.
Right now, I have nothing else to say. I hope you are interested in Slumberer's Universe, and that this game can genuinely impact you. Thank you for reading!

Hello everyone! The Steam Next Fest has begun today, and there's a bunch of information regarding Slumberer's Universe I've got to share.
Full game release - Aug 20, 2025
First of all, Slumberer's Universe is releasing in about two months, on August 20! There's a new trailer released, announcing the release date:
The full game will feature chapters 1 to 4, plus the prologue. The story will be finally completed after all these years! Will Alph be able to overcome Walter's death? What is the memory he cannot remember? How is all this connected? Find out the truth and uncover the memories Alph wanted to erase in the later chapters! I am very excited for you to be able to play it, so please look forward to the release!!
The game still requires the final levels of polish – mainly some accessibility options, but the game has already entered content lock and the private playtesting has begun. I am so, so happy to have reached this point in the development.
Unfortunately, the game won't have any localization on launch. The Finnish translation from the demo has been removed too, since it takes too much time to maintain it. I hope I can get this game localized to some languages afterwards though, but no promises regarding that.
The demo - update 1.7 is now released!
This new version fixes some remaining bugs, adds graphical improvements and features some additional content in the story. This new update will feature the exact (or almost the) same versions of the first two chapters as in the upcoming full game, so you can see whether you like the game before buying it. You can also load your demo save in the full game and continue playing where you left off when the full game releases.

What's new
This version basically includes everything that the full game will, for example:
save compatibility with the full game
autosaving
updated battle system
general QoL updates to the whole game
a few new features
minor story updates.
If you've been wanting to play the game for a while now,
Now is the best time to play Slumberer's Universe!
This version will ensure you'll get close to the same experience as you would with the full game in 2025.
Anyway, there's quite some new content available. Check the last progress update to see some of these! Now the only thing remaining is to get the last two chapters done (progress on the third chapter is going really well - it'll be finished in just a few weeks!)

Just like last year, here’s a teaser for the next chapter!
It’s been a year of radio silence. The game, however, is far from abandoned. The rest of the chapters are coming up nicely, and the plan for the rest of stuff has pretty much been finalized!
Updated stuff!
Besides having a new chapter done, there’s been a lot of polishing to other parts during this year! Take a look of some of the updated stuff here:
Updated menu:
Pixel talking animation:
An “Ultimate attack!”:
A new dodge mechanic:
What’s next
The game will feature a total of four chapters plus prologue and a short epilogue. That means there’s only one chapter remaining! However, the game still needs a lot of polishing. Even though the main story might be finished earlier, the game will be released at a later date. The date hasn’t been set in stone yet, but will be in the second half of 2025, depending on the time it takes to create the last chapter.
I’ve learned a lesson from the demo, and that is not to rush the release. I was unhappy with the initial release of the demo. I fixed most of the annoyances with the update 1.5, but I don’t want to do that again. This time, I want to deliver a complete product that doesn’t need updates. Oh, but don’t take that the wrong way. Updates will absolutely come whenever necessary. I just mean that I want to make sure there is no big need for updates by making the game good enough on release.
So, the development will continue on forward! I want to make more progress updates in the future, but we'll have to see if it'll work out. There will be announcements for the important stuff for sure. The focus has been on developing the game for the past year, and I haven't had enough motivation to write continuous updates about the progress.
The demo
The demo is complete, as far as I am concerned. It represents the full game well enough, even though there will be some changes to the first two chapters in the full game.
(EDIT:) Uhh, Steam actually just published some new features for demos. Well, I might change something in the demo in the future. No promises though!
As for the JP translation, I’m taking my word back about that. There’s been some trouble with the translator, so I can’t say anything if it is coming or not. Might come out one day, or might not. We’ll see. I’ll publish another announcement if I hear something about it in the future. Better not get any hopes up though.
Anyway, that’s pretty much it. Only one chapter left! See you next year for the final teaser. Oh, and in about 1,5 years on the release!
Hey Ralph, can I lend your main theme? I promise I’ll make it sound different so that the teacher won’t notice it! - Alph

Hi!
It's not even been a year since the Demo release with Prologue and Chapter 1, but it sure feels like a long time. Having the experience from the previous chapters and motivation to try new things, this upcoming chapter is, in my opinion, so far the best one.
Without spoiling anything, this chapter will focus more on the main story and drive that forward. The Chapter 1 was a bit 'meh' story-wise, and that will receive a rework along with Prologue! However, that won't come to the demo, except if I decide otherwise in the future.
A lot of QoL changes have been made once again along with the new content, mostly to the battle system. These changes won't be ported to the demo due to the radical amount of changes made to the core components. It'd take time to get all these features working on the Demo's branch. Because of that, the demo won't be receiving any major updates anymore. Bug fixes will of course be published if bugs were to be found.
Well then, it's time for Chapter 3 next!
(Also, is there another translation coming???? I heard Ralph say something about 日本語. . . or did I? Who was Ralph once again? I can't remember...) – Alph

It is currently on the beta branch only (due to a few grammatical errors and other minor bugs included in it)
You can access it by right-clicking Slumberer's Universe Demo in Steam library --> select "properties" --> select "betas" --> select "fi-beta". After that, close the menu and wait for it to update.
It will be released outside the beta after I manage to fix every known error.

The UX update 1.5 has been released!
Hi! This new update has a lot of improvements to the user experience. A lot of bugs and other clunky stuff has been fixed, and on top of that, many new features have been added!
Features:
These do not differ much from the initial announcement.
1. New content!
Some new content, like the new beginning of the game, has been added! While it doesn't include chapter 2, there are some new secret areas for you to find in this update!
2. 16:9 support
This is definitely the biggest change you'll see. I've ported the game from 4:3 to 16:9 to make it better on modern monitors. The game is only going to support 16:9 from now on, due to it being too hard to maintain 4:3 support too.
3. Improved UI
The UI is now consistent everywhere. The menus, title screen, battle system, text box and everything has been updated to follow the new UI guidelines! A lot of animations have been added too.
4. Improved battle system
Some updates have been made to the battle system as well, featuring a combo system, new animations, and improvements to the dodge system. These changes will make the fighting experience much more fun! On top of that, the enemies have been balanced.
5. Other smaller (but not unimportant!) stuff
The graphics got a noticeable upgrade. They are much sharper than before! The soundtrack got a few updates, with one new, one remade and one improved song. On top of that, some optimizations have been made under the hood that will provide a faster and stabler, less buggy experience. There's been stuff done for easier and faster developing too. There are a lot more minor improvements and/or fixes, but those aren't worth mentioning.
Q&A
Are the saves compatible with the new version?
Unfortunately no. The game has got so many changes that some things will be broken beyond playable in the upcoming update. You can keep playing with your old saves on the old version, or you can start from the beginning.
I don't like the new stuff. Can I revert to the old version?
Sure! You can download the old version either by entering the beta 1.0.1 from Steam or downloading the old version from Itch or Gamejolt to keep using this version.
Is chapter 2 be released?
Nope. Chapter 2 will be released with rest of the chapters in the future. The release date is still TBD and will take a few years at least.

Hello!
A new update to Slumberer's Universe demo has been released alongside the MacOS and Linux builds.
Changelog:
- Made the chapter 1 forest puzzle easier and better. - Made the navigation in certain parts of prologue easier. - Fixed some minor bugs and grammatical errors. - Minor changes to dialogue in certain parts.
The improved trailer has been released too! Watch it on the Steam page or watch it on YouTube.

The demo of Slumberer's Universe is now released! This is the biggest game project we've worked so far so it's quite a milestone.
Now, the demo only has the prologue and the first chapter. Let's discuss about what's next.
The future
Okay, there's a lot of things to do. Here's a quick summary of what we've planned to do next and what will the full game include:
The upcoming full game
Starting with the chapter amount, there's no precise information of how many of them will come in the full product. The estimate for those currently are 4 (apart from the prologue and possibly an epilogue). The rest of them will be published within the full release.
We're not sure when the full game is coming, but the current estimates are between 2024 and 2025. That, however, is a very rough estimate, and it could come during 2023, but that right now seems very unlikely.
The price of the full game will also be decided when it's done. Might be free.
The demo
The demo's complete right now. It won't receive any more feature updates or any other major changes. Sure, there will be bug fixes and other small patches but that's probably everything. And no, we're not releasing another demo with the upcoming chapters to the public.
You probably already have noticed that the game is only available for Windows right now. I'll start working on the MacOS and Linux releases soon. If you're using linux, you should be able to play the game with Proton without any issues too.
