The Prologue Playtest is just around the corner, that’s why we do hope you’ve already signed up to take part in them. If you still haven’t, don’t worry, you can click 👉 HERE 👈to get transfered to the Prologue website on Steam. Once you're there, you only need to press "Reqest Access" button and that's it!

Today we’d like to give you a heads up about the changes you can expect in comparison to the Demo version!

🎶 In-game music

In the demo version, music played in the restaurant was played in a way that made players hear it exactly the same no matter where they were. Now this system has been changed and the music is played through the speakers placed in the dining hall. This small but important change introduces the surround sound to the game. Now you’ll hear the music differently with respect to how far away you are from the source of the sound. There are also 3 new melodies available.

📝 Recipes

Definitely one of the most important aspects of the game. Your restaurants will show their true colors only when more recipes appear on the menu. Currently, the clients can also ask for a nice cup of coffee, spaghetti, stir-fry or a freshly baked casserole. 🤤

👀 User Interface

We didn’t forget to introduce changes to the UI as well. Some of the information about your current progress, points gained, etc. received a different display.

📺 Animations

We couldn’t pass on the opportunity to introduce a new animation upgrade. The Prologue is going to introduce new animations for all the ingredients added to the dishes. They also received sound effects adding to the overall realism.

The game also received a lot of smaller upgrades but we’ll allow you to discover the rest of them by yourself! There’s no need to spoil all the fun before the Prologue comes out, is there? 😜

We’re glad to see you in another devlog from our 🎶 ASMR Kitchen! Today’s topic is of utmost importance for us. We’re aware that due to the name and theme of our game, the in-game sounds are extremely important for a satisfying gameplay. 👍 That’s why we’re working on multiple aspects of this part of the game. Before we take a look at the changes we’d like to announce that the next devlog will introduce some new content and mechanics you’ll be able to enjoy in the 👉ASMR Food Experience Prologue👈.

The first feature we’ve improved is none other than the depth of sounds. We’ve been working hard to make sure we deliver a quality experience allowing you to feel the direction and distance of different sounds. 🔥

Currently, most of the new sounds appear in the kitchen. 🍝 It’s one of the first games, where sounds have to be delivered so precisely and have such detailed characteristics, clearly distinguishable layers and features such as crunches not to mention the changes in the textures. This was a big challenge for our developers which they’ve faced head on! 💪 We can’t wait to hear your opinions on the new sounds. 🤩

We’ve started those changes with the sounds of chopping, frying, kneading and all the other sounds connected with cooking like pouring liquids. 🧴 We do hope that those changes will allow you to enjoy the gameplay more and to give you more of the ASMR vibe. 🎼

On top of that we’ve changed the 📻 radio sounds, from now it’s no longer omnipresent. It has a source in the dining hall and becomes a surround sound. This brings a significant change because the music played in your restaurants is mostly for the guests to enjoy. That’s why the further you go from the dining hall, the less audible the radio will be.

Welcome back to our humble ASMR Food Experience restaurant. 🍣 We’re happy to have you visit us again and even happier to share our recent progress. 🙂

As you can remember, we’ve told you that playtests of the prologue version will take place this month. Because of that, armed with some initial feedback we’re working on changing and improving the UI. 📝 We understand that an intuitional UI is crucial when it comes to enjoying the game that’s why we’re doing our best to implement certain changes making the UI more user-friendly. Keep in mind the screens you’re about to see are still work in progress, so they may and most likely will be changed in one way or another. 🙂

The first noticeable change is the constant appearance of the burn degree icon during the cooking, 🥘 when the counter reaches the end, your dish will become burnt, thus unable to be served. That’s why you have to remember about stirring! 👍

Another important change is the display of UI while pouring the ingredients into different bowls, pans etc. Up to this point, there was no information whether or not you’re adding/pouring more of the ingredient because there were no units such as grams, milliliters or simply quantity. From now on they’ll show up. This UI will offer you less information but they’ll be more essential- how much of the ingredient are you currently adding and how much of said ingredient is already added to the bowl. 🔍

The window used to pick how much of the ingredient you want to add has also been moved into a more noticeable place- next to the adding ingredients UI. 🤩

We keep working on optimizing the UI, doing our best to get rid of as many active keys as possible. 👏 Our goal is to make the number as small as possible to let you enjoy simple, intuitive controls. 🔥 What other options would you like to be available in the UI? Let us know in the comments!

We’re glad to meet you again in the world of great flavors and amazing sounds! 🎶

We’re not going to lie… we’ve got a lot on our plates. Currently we’re working on many various activities and mechanics but we’d love to give you a little insight into our progress. During today’s trip, we’d like you to keep in mind that on some gifs you’ll see placeholders, graphics and visual effects may and will be further improved or changed. 🙂 With that being said, let’s dive right into today’s devlog, shall we?

Let’s start with the minigames. The sound is a very important part of our game therefore one of our biggest challenges is creating appealing and functional rhythm based minigames. For the demonstration purposes, we’ll take you through some of the steps of creating dumplings. 🥟

As you can see, some of the tasks will reward you additional experience points if done quickly, while some require you to hit the right button at the right time.

👍 Let’s take a look at cutting!

The cutting minigame is about rhythmically hitting each of the lines to achieve perfect cuts. We’d love to know your opinions on those minigames, we can't wait to hear your ideas! 🔥

Moving out of the kitchen, let’s meet one of the customers who’s interested in this very dish! He’s still rough on the edges but it’s his first time meeting you so show him some love, will you? 🤔 The following gif presents taking orders!

But what exactly needs to be done before the guests can come into the restaurant? Let’s run through some of the early morning activities you’ll have to complete before the opening.
First things first, you’ll have to tidy up the place, clean the tables, put down the chairs and clean the floors. 🪑

Once you take care of that, you’ll have to restock all the supplies, paper in the toilets, napkins and flowers on the table so they’ll be ready whenever guests come in! 👍

Once those steps are completed you’ll finally be able to start the real work.

Currently, we’re still working on improving and creating the models, animations and balancing the game. Many elements have already been programmed and as we progress with the development of the game we’ll share more of them in devlogs for you to take a look.

Unfortunately that brings us to the end of this devlog. We’d love to hear your honest opinions about its contents. Welcome back! We’re glad to see you again in the ASMR: Food Experience kitchen. 🙂 This time, we’d like to take you to the office to show you one of the most important tools when it comes to managing the restaurant. 👍

Can you see the laptop on the desk? One should get used to it as soon as possible as it contains lots of crucial apps! 💻 Let’s take a look at them, shall we?

“FOODparic”

This app will allow players to make orders for all the products and accessories necessary to prepare dishes and run the restaurant. It’ll be in the players’ best interest to keep an eye on the size of orders, because there is a limit of how many boxes you can order at once. 📝 When shopping, we suggest carefully planning what you need the most at the moment and what’s going to be needed in a short while.

“Cook master"

This app is our take on the classic skill tree! 🤩 Players’ can buy courses through this app, to develop their cooking skills, which results in unlocking new recipes and additional quality and precision of preparing the meals! 🍣

“Music & food”

Through this app players’ gain control over the music 🎶 played in the restaurant. It has songs in various styles and to assure you’ve got even more control over it, players’ can queue the songs and if one is not a fan of music- switch it off completely! 🔇

“Statistics”

This is the most important app in regard to developing players’ businesses. It contains all the data, starting with the cooking skills, through the cleanliness level up to the quality and speed of service and even the rating of your place❗

At the very beginning of the game, players’ will have to check them personally but later you’ll have a possibility to hire staff member to do it for you.

As we’ve stressed many times before, the ratings are extremely important because they are the determining factor in developing and expanding your businesses, the amount of guests visiting the place and even setting prices. 💰

Those are the apps available at the moment but in the full version there will be more of them! The ones currently planned are:

“Finances”

App where you can control the expenses and income 💲 of the business. Carefully analyzing the data it provides will help you determine where there is too much money spent and what can the players’ do in order to increase the overall situation of the restaurant 👏

“Employees”

Place where you’ll do all the decisions related to your employees such as hiring, training and even firing them if necessary. Each of the people you’ll hire has room for improvement if there is enough effort and money put in it. 🧑‍🍳

“Restaurant Upgrades”

It’ll contain all the tools related to expanding the business such as buying equipment, decorations and more! 🤩

Come in and sit comfortably! Our ASMR: Food Experience programmers are back with yet another tasty update on the production of the game! 🤩

This month we’ll venture out of our kitchen and focus on something equally crucial.

We’d like to introduce you to the NPCs!👏

Everyone knows it’s not possible for the business to properly grow and prosper without capable workers and people interested in your goods!

Therefore, our crew started working on this aspect of our title! Keep in mind we put an utmost priority on giving you as realistic experience of running a restaurant as possible! 🧑‍🍳 That’s why we pay a lot of attention to the guests and workers we create. Our goal is to make naturally behaving NPCs with various looks, no matter if it’s age, height or silhouette. 👱 Each of the characters will represent a slightly different social group, presenting you- the manager of the restaurant with unique challenges in order to meet their expectations and needs. 😍

Here are the NPC’s and their mechanics we’ve created so far:

Waiters

In the demo version, a waitress will work in your restaurant by default unlike in the full version where you’ll have to earn this right by developing your skills and restaurant. The waiters are connectors between the kitchen and dining hall making the process of taking orders and serving the dishes smoother. 📝

After approaching the client, the waiter will take their order making it appear on the board in the players' kitchen. Then, they will bring napkins, cutlery and other objects necessary to properly serve your guests. 🍽️

As soon as the entire order is ready, they’ll receive it from the pick-up window and deliver to propper tables. Once the meal is over, the waiter brings the empty dishes back to the pick-up window from where you can bring them back for washing.

Clients

Guests will appear in your restaurant at any time of the day when it’s open. After taking a seat they’ll wait for a person to pick up their order. During their stay, each NPC will have a bar displaying their satisfaction 😍 or irritation 😡 with your service which will have a huge impact on their final evaluation.

Therefore, you have to do your best to make the service quick, efficient and complex (there can’t be such a thing as lack of napkins, cutlery or a long waiting time for the meal). On top of that, making sure the dishes are as tasty as possible. 🤯

You’ll also have an opportunity to personally talk with some of the guests on subjects not necessarily connected to your business. 🙂 Sometimes, it’s going to be merely a casual chit-chat but from time to time you may find out something extremely important!

We’ve also given players the possibility to refuse serving the guest, making them leave your restaurants. Sometimes, you’ll be forced to do it e.g., when you have no seats available at the moment. Keep in mind it’s obviously going to make your rating drop. 🤔

Remember that the work on this aspect of the game has just begun and different aspects such as models, can still be changed, not to mention new ones will be added! That’s where you- the players come in. Let us know your thoughts on the current progress. Give us your honest opinions and suggestions on our discord 👇 and have a real impact on the production!
