    It was fun using Unity

MidnightKing is made with Unity, I've learned and worked on this game for the past 2 years. It was fun but I had to stop since there was a lot of spaghetti code and no overall substance in the game. I do not expect this game to do good commercially, it represents my persistence t

    SteamFest Is Almost Here

Since my last announcement I've learned Godot and stopped using Unity (for reasons) and I've made another game during the GBJam11 on itch.io. I'm really enjoying the engine and I hope that I can make my next game great. A lot happened for the last 2 years of my life and MidnightK

    An Announcement After A Week

So I completed the introduction to the game, I'm working on adding more enemies and finally adding the improved mechanics for the boss. I may be able to get the second area done (no promises). At the end of August I will push a live update of the game.

I Got Up From My Bed

I further worked on the beginning to tell the player who Jesse is and what happened all those centuries ago. I still need to make some more art and add more scenes but it's progressing pretty smoothly. As long as I stay on track I should be able to get a good demo out when Steam

    Further Work

I've worked on the beginning scene of the story. It explains why you're trying to find this Jesse kid, and what happened to him. I've made art and I've been trying to figure out how to make cutscenes. I don't want to spoil the story so no pictures.

Art for Brigit and new creatures called the Wilds.

Some art that I worked on. The 2nd phase of Brigit. Some creatures called the Wilds, they are one of the many things the elves left behind. Body of bush, legs of oak; their legs stretch when frightened to try and imitate a tree.

The Small Step Toward Changing The Spells

I didn't do much today, I only changed the look for one of the spells and did more planning for future changes. The sigil spins but I can't add videos in announcements, so you'll have to take my word for it.

    Meow?

I worked on better explaining the controls of spells and weapons. I also made the combat more smooth to transition into and not push every mechanic onto the player all at once. I also redrew the cat companion so it doesn't look so creepy. (I kept the thiccc chubby wubby part) I'm

    Preparing For Steam Fest

2 months before Steam Fest starts. Drawing, programming, and composing music. I hope I can get my demo in order by that time. I received lots of feedback and I hope to get more when Steam Fest starts. I want to let you all know that I will be posting a daily devlog until October.

    Continued Development of MidnightKing

Over the past couple months, I've been redesigning the whole of the game because I realized it was kind of a mess. I've been studying music theory and overall game design so I could make the best possible experience for the players. This was my first game and I was too ambitious,

    Where'd I go

Hey, I know it's been a while since I last updated the demo, I'm very sorry for that. I've been trying to get all my classes done early so I can have more time to work on my game. I've been designing new things in the mean time for bosses and new areas. I'm learning about sound d

    Working on Demo

I don't want to spoil too much, but I aim for a lot of exploration and combat. Nothing big or spectacular though. Please be patient
