Welcome back to the development log for Ready for Riot!
Today, we're spicing things up with a generous helping of humor as we venture into the world of 3D modeling for "Ready for Riot!"
In this delightfully goofy Devlog, we'll explore the, let's say, unconventional methods behind crafting firearms (all digital ofc) and the aftermath of police cars gone bonkers.
Run and gun
Our weapons in "Ready for Riot" may be mean, but the modeling process is anything but serious. Let's take a peek at the shenanigans behind our MP4 creation.
First we need to find a good 2D reference. Then import it in the 3D software manipulation program (Blender here)
Then we need to "outline" this, just look at the GIF , you will understand immediately :D
But details must be done separately. Not everything is that easy! :D Different weapons need different tactics to overcome obstacles in 3D modeling :D
My fav GIF - assembling! Later we need to cut the rifle into little pieces , its usefull in animations and sometimes you can even use a part of one gun in another !!! (but pls don't tell anyone)
Our 3D artists need to add intricate details such as screws, bolts, and engravings. This level of detail is crucial to make the weapon appear battle-worn and authentic. Guess why? Because weapon in 1st person perspective game is crucial! Because the player will look at it very often and from the very close ;)
Gun ready! Ready for riot ;) Oh, and it have the added supressor, but those kind of things will be added later, just remember that you can customize your rifle in Ready for Riot to match a lot of different situations and to match your style in game ;)
Modeling a "Wrecked" Police Car
In Ready for Riot, we're not afraid to take law enforcement vehicles for a wild ride…
There is a important situation:
You already kind of "saw" this police car! It can be seen for a "briefly" moment in our Ready for Riot trailer! Really briefly! You must trust me, there is this destroyed police car on the scene in game!!!
So you came back as a reinforcements but a police was first already, a clueless policeman parked his car near a prison facility and then BOOOOM!
Who can quested that???!
A prisoner's rebellion spawned and big explosion and it damaged a police car ;/
This car is for enviroment only purposes, you cant use it :D But we must show you some sculpting process netherless :D
Our modelers meticulously crafted the damage, breaking windows, adding dents, and even puncturing tires. The car was gradually transformed into a wrecked state (don't do it at home kids)
Car ready! Its funny that first you must made a car in good condition and then gradually wreck it xd
Car's paint job - what color are police cars in your country??? Here where i live they are silver and blue Tell us yours in comments :D
Once completed, the destroyed police car was placed strategically within the game world to evoke a sense of chaos and conflict.
Don't go near it or it will explode again ;)
