It's been a few months since we've made an announcement so its time for an update.
Thanks to everyone who joined us during the previous Next Fest! We were delighted to have over 3,000 unique gobbos experience the playtest during that week. It was an amazing opportunity to let people try the game and we received tons of great feedback.
We're still working hard to get the game ready for Early Access. (SOON)
Here are some new features to look forward to:
Camp Merchant
Now you can spend your hard earned Gul on stylish new wares!
New items can be unlocked by finding secret scrolls throughout the world.
New Customization
Faces are now customizable!
We've also added over 80 new cosmetics each with unique descriptions and lore.
What's Next
Right now our priority is to get the game ready for Early Access.
Fortunately we are very close and have only a few more systems to work on. What we have right now is a solid foundation for the game that allows us to quickly and easily add new content. This will be our focus as we move through early access and push for a full release.
Currently we're testing out a lot of new features including:

Better onboarding experience and an actual training mission.
More natural character movement with camera-steering.
Improved camp layout for quality of life.
More levels to explore.
New inhabitants.
Other improvements based on player feedback.
We'll be posting more updates soon and sharing our plans for Early Access as we move forward.

Fixed an issue where player voices would loop and repeat. - A few players thought this was intentional and super creepy; We took note of that.
Fixed an issue where players were still targetable after exiting the Underpass.
Fixed invisible polys on the Dungeon staff.
Changes

Added an experimental area to camp meant to help familiarize new players with movement.
Reduced the amount of grass in camp slightly.
Version number text on the title screen can now be clicked to view patch notes.

Fixed an issue where players would get stuck in spectator mode if they were the last to die.
Fixed infinite loading screens when failing to join a lobby for any reason. (Invalid password, lobby full, incompatible version, server timeout, etc.)
Fixed an issue where you couldn't cancel or close the password prompt when joining a lobby.
Changes

Can now smack the return key to submit when joining password-protected lobbies.
Improved timing for game-ending transitions to be less quick/jarring.

Witherholme is participating in Next Fest with a FREE limited-time demo.
This is an opportunity for players to try out a free, limited version of the game as we gather feedback and prepare to move into Early Access.
Features:
This demo gives players a chance to delve into The Underpass, an abandoned mercenary outpost that serves as a main entry point to the game.
Also included are multiplayer features such as a main hub, functional server browser, in-game voice chat, character customization, and the ability to host private games for you and your friends.
Important Info:

The Demo playtest is scheduled to last until 6/26 at 12:00pm CST
This game is still under development and will be moving into Early Access shortly after Next Fest
Feedback, suggestions, and discussions are welcome in our Official Discord Server
We will be pushing out regular patches during the week to address things like missing audio and other gameplay tweaks.
This playtest requires an internet connection to play, however, the full game supports offline mode.
