Some Backstory
So in my personal time, I recently came across this candidate for the Theory of Everything. For the uninitiated, the Theory of Everything is the potential grand equation of the universe from which all of the physical laws (such as gravity, electromagnetism, etc...) are derived. This wonderfully elegant yet flawed theory posits that physical relationships between quantum phenomena have a geometric source, specifically in the form of the extremely complicated E8 lattice.
I have always had an intense interest in theoretical physics and was so impressed by the paper from which this theory was introduced that I wanted to make a small tribute to the idea. You can read more here: Exceptionally Simple Theory of Everything but it's certainly not required to enjoy the new boss.
Boss Mechanics
The Legendary Lattice exerts a constant quantum gravitational force on the player that can be temporarily disabled by damaging the singularity. Unfortunately, the lattice cannot be truly harmed until the component particles are all annihilated. Be careful because if you raise the particle to a higher energy state, the singularity may pull them in and grow its power making it even harder to escape its irresistible attraction!
This new boss replaces the second boss, the Abstract. Previously earned achievements will not be affected.
New Sound Manager
Responding to feedback from some blunt but helpful friends, I've normalized the disparity between music and sound effects and added a music mute control to the main menu, It should be easier to play the game now without your ears bleeding which is always preferable.
Bug Fixes
- Single shots and the dash now happen on mouse button down rather than up
- Added constraints to the purple Spiralers so they now no longer spiral up or down off the arena
- Fixed the achievement manager awarding the blizzard achievements during the Circle of Death
- A bunch of little stuff that doesn't warrant mentioning
