BIG UPDATE IS COMING

Hi.

As you know, development on Tokyo Warfare Turbo stopped a few years ago.

Right now I'm deep into development of the Initial D game. It's an extremely complex project: advanced physics, a new graphics approach that has even required me to build hardware more suited to an R&D lab than a game studio. All that complexity, combined with a project reset because the initial visual approach wasn't convincing me in terms of effort-to-result ratio, has inevitably taken its toll on me.

The last TWT update also left a bad taste in my mouth. On one hand, I fixed the gameplay so that AA units focus on helicopters and tanks focus on tanks, but in the process I broke Survival mode, and I only realized it far too late, when I had already shifted my focus to the other project.

So, all in all, that's why I've decided to take a break and give TWT one final push, implementing and polishing the many things that were left half-finished or not quite right. I've spent the last few weeks in a hardcore sleep-work-sleep cycle to deliver this update ASAP. There's still work to do, but it's getting closer.

In the coming weeks, once it's ready, the game will receive a very substantial update.

There's no commercial justification whatsoever for an update like this, in fact, there are months where Steam doesn't even pay me, because sales volume is too low. But I feel I owe you this (most likely) last big update. The game loop has been improved so substantially that the game might even come back to life for a while. I'm not counting on it, but if that happens, I'm willing to give it another push and add modes like zombie hordes, or whatever we come up with.

So stay tuned, something big is coming.
