Deus Ex: Human Revolution, you simply can't come quick enough. Over the past year our coverage has shifted in tone from downbeat, through cautiously optimistic to fully-fledged fanboy ZOMG. The game isn't even out yet, but it hasn't stopped people posting a greatest hits video, which you can see above. It has two of the game's best hit moments seen so far, along with a beautiful gun-cocking animation for some completely unknown reason.
Should the greatest hits reel not be enough for you, then we have the first ten minutes of Deus Ex 3 for you right here. Unlike the lucky gits in the office (I'm looking at you specifically Tom Francis, Rich McCormick and Graham Smith), I have yet to experience the delights of Human Revolution, and refuse to have the experience spoilt, so I have absolutely no idea what is in this video. All I do know is that it's narrated by someone speaking a foreign language, and for all I know they could be reciting 'The Tales of Beedle the Bard' rather than offering an insight into the game.
E3 is gearing up, and publishers are starting to throw plenty of new trailers at us. First up we have an almighty bloody video for Prototype 2 (Finally! An ultra bloody trailer for the Pwn that ISN'T for FEAR 3!) If one YouTube commenter is to be believed, this is the 'most amazing fuckin trailer. Period.' I've seen better, but there are few trailers that involve swinging helicopters around with such destructive grace. However, Prototype 2's antagonist doesn't steal the crown from Max Payne for the 'you killed my wife and daughter' spiel.
If death is your kind of thing, then you'll be pleased to know that you'll be working as the head of that department in the follow-up to the Zelda-but-gothic Darksiders. Take a look at the trailer for Darksiders 2, which reveals the sickly-looking horseman Death, who replaces his brother War as the main protagonist. Demonic destruction is a guarantee.
I'm not an MMO guy. I did my 'time' in Azeroth and I had a love affair with Guild Wars for a while, but overall I generally like my RPG's singleplayer. I can't say I've been even remotely excited about The Old Republic, despite holding BioWare up as gods in human form and being a Star Wars junkie. That all changed with the latest trailer. Within two minutes my mind has been changed, and I can't wait to get some hands-on time with BioWare's Star Wars MMO. The space fights look epic, the saber duels intense and the universe perfectly realised. Tom has already played a chunk of it and wasn't entirely convinced (much to The Republic podcast's confusion) but I remain hopeful.
Freeman's Mind! The much-loved machinima is back for another episode, but this time it's a prequel, set in Half-Life's training section. Amusing as ever and, if you are one of the poor souls who have yet to discover this amazing series, a great starting point.
Rage had kind of slipped my radar until today. Thankfully id put up this eight minute trailer, and after seeing the spinning knife throw trick in action, I'm completely sold. But wait, what is this? Mind control bullets?!? That's a pre-order.
Looking gorgeous as ever is America McGee's Alice: Madness Returns, with the launch trailer showing off the colourful mad world of Wonderland and its many odd inhabitants. Unfortunately Alice's voice actor sounds terrible, but the ability to grow big and stomp on things overrides this set-back easily.
