Gamedec Turns 5! πŸŽ‰

Detectives,

Today marks five years since the release of Gamedec - an important milestone in the history of Anshar Studios and the culmination of our attempt to create a game where decisions truly matter, and your moral compass is often the only guide you have. From the very beginning, Gamedec was built around one idea: your choices should have consequences, even when you least expect them.

The clues you uncover and the information you choose to pursue all shape what you know when the time comes to make your next deduction. Sometimes, a decision made hours earlier can return in ways you might not anticipate. That was always at the heart of Gamedec. We wanted to create a game where consequences extend beyond a single quest or investigation - where the world remembers your actions, even when you might have forgotten them yourself.

Based on the Gamedec book series by Polish author Marcin Sergiusz PrzybyΕ‚ek, the game follows a detective who offers his services in 22nd-century Warsaw. It's a city where the boundaries between the real and virtual worlds have all but disappeared. People spend much of their lives in virtual realities (Virtualia), yet the consequences of what happens inside them can be painfully real.

Five years later, we thought it was a good moment to revisit that world.

5th Anniversary Update Coming October 1 πŸ’₯

As previously announced, we've been working on a free update for Gamedec, and it's almost time to share it with you! This update is, first and foremost, a small thank-you to everyone who has stayed with us over the years. Whether you'd like to revisit the story, follow a completely different path through your investigations, or experience the game with one of the new avatars, we hope this update gives you a good reason to return to Warsaw City of the 22nd century.

We've also spent time revisiting several aspects of the game, including rebalancing profession costs, improving the Codex and user interface, and refining the writing in the English version. We'll share more details about the update soon. For now, here's a little teaser of what's coming.

You made the choice, here are the results:

Was it a particular investigation, a decision you regretted, or perhaps a consequence you never saw coming? Which Virtual World was your favorite? Harvest Time? Low City? Knight's Code? Twisted & Perverted? Let us know in the comments!
