Dear Martians!
Making repairs on Mars can be difficult due to limited reserves of spare parts. Since you won’t be able to buy new components or deliver them from Earth, you will have a 3D printer and a recycling machine at your disposal.
The 3D printer is a device that allows you to print parts of the rover that need to be replaced. The printing process will cost you an amount of raw materials and will be a bit time-consuming.
3D printing process:
1. First you open the printer’s menu and select parts that can be printed.
2. You can choose several parts, which will be automatically placed in a queue (max 5 items). The more complicated and valuable the part, the longer the printing process takes.
3. While printing, you can for example play a mini-game or do something else to pass the time. The device will be running in the background.
4. The printed parts are placed inside capsules which have to be collected before the items are available in the inventory. When printing is completed, you’ll get a notification.
Some of the parts removed from rovers are worthless and can’t be repaired. You can destroy them using a recycling machine. The recycling machine turns the unusable parts into resources that you can later use in 3D printing. The better the condition of the part, the bigger the amount of raw materials that you obtain.
The recycling machine immediately destroys the parts when you press the “Destroy” button. The components you select are placed in a queue so that you can look through them before clicking “Destroy”.
The recycling process:
1. Open a special UI which displays all the parts that are in the inventory.
2. Choose which components you want to destroy. Similarly to 3D printing, they are placed in a queue (max 5 items).
3. When you press the “Destroy” button, the parts get destroyed and you receive a given amount of raw materials.
