Early Access Update 16!

Filter Pipes have been added to Ficterra! You can block or allow the items you want from your pipe networks. You can use these to sort your items into different pipe chests or create some fun machines.

We also have a new selection bar that is easier to see. We removed the outlines for the icons, and they now get larger when selected.

Updates

  • Filter Pipes have been added to the game. These are vacuum pipes that can allow or block certain items. Filter Pipes can be crafted at the Tinker Table
  • Replaced the selection bar at the bottom. It now better highlights what you have selected. Selecting an item smoothly animates it larger and removes the hotkey reminder. The bar is also larger than previously overall.
  • After placing an item you now switch back to your tool by default. We found most of the time you only place one of an object, then want to use a tool. Certain objects still will place consecutively such as plates and vacuum pipes.
  • Added an option in the Item Editor to toggle switching to a tool after placing. You will have to update items for placeable objects in your mods if you don't want the new behaviour
  • Icons when you choose an item are now loaded asynchronously
  • Icons of items in your inventory are now loaded asynchronously
  • Removed the 'Burndown Seams' option from the performance menu; this became obsolete with our new loading system
  • Removed excess code related to 'Burndown Seams' for a very small increase in performance

Fixes

  • Fixed visual artifacts on the 'give' icon
  • Fixed time not being fixed in the Puzzle Ship Fiction
  • Fixed some stars in the Puzzle Ship Fiction
  • The Give items panel now has the same list of filtered items when reopened
