You can make the decision to deescalate domestic problems or fan the flames on the international stage, and they sound good at the right moment.

This does not mean that you have to follow wherever it takes you. You are your own boss. Just remember that decisions will help you with saving lives, creating civil unrest or maybe, just maybe, saving your face.
Proper bills will lessen the effects of crises on your stats. This doesn’t mean that your every decision will have a positive impact. Signing or refusing to sign a document may bring a spiral of catastrophic effects, anything from slight dent in your voter demographic to nuclear winter.
