Żywiec beer is called Żywiec because it comes from Żywiec ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. It's a small city in the south of Poland. In Żywiec and its surroundings, together called Żywiecczyzna (good luck with that), there is a fucked up tradition called dziady żywieckie.
