DLC 1
It's been quite a while since my last dev blog post. I've been pretty busy organizing things and working on future content.
The DLC is coming along nicely, making big progress every day.
I've probably said this somewhere else before. This DLC is happening for 2 reasons.
I had a pretty cool idea but I noticed it would not quite fit into Supraland 2, so it's becoming its own thing.
And I am using this development time to learn to work together with our new narrative designer Alex Shedlock. Before we tackle the next big thing, I want to make sure we know each other well enough. So far it's going great!
The year just started and now it's October again. Always shocking! I said the DLC will come out at the end of this year. I think it will at least be in beta in december. So all of you early access crowdfunding backers will get to play it then. After all your feedback is in the game, it should come out a little later.
I plan to not give the game to all early access backers at the same time. I think it's more beneficial to give the first draft to one group, the 2nd draft to a new fresh group... etc. That way I can be sure the changes that were made in the meantime will be seen through fresh eyes. I hope this is ok for you. If not, please throw in some rude comments below!
If you totally want to play all test versions, I will sure let you!
DLC 2
You might have noticed the "1" in the first heading. That's because I have a surprise announcement. There will not only be 1 but 2 DLCs coming.
The reason is that I got 3 more developers on team and I want them to go through some practice too before we get to Supraland 2. I challenged them to make a mini-DLC campaign. Turns out everything they plan is much bigger than I thought and they put in much more fresh ideas than I hoped for! The plan was to get it done in 3 months but I am not so sure anymore.
Our new talents are Stephen Ferguson and Annemieke Eerkes who you might know from their incredible work on this famous expansion to Portal 2: https://store.steampowered.com/app/317400/Portal_Stories_Mel
The 3rd one is Benjamin Blodgett who I found out about because he was working on his own First-Person-Puzzle game which is still unreleased.
The 3 new folks started working on Supraland a couple of weeks ago and are doing great and getting more and more familiar with the Supra working environment.
Like with DLC 1 I will not tell you anything about the DLC 2 content. I hate it when publishers or game devs let you know every little detail about a game before it comes out. Same thing with movies. It's so much better going into it knowing nothing about it. We're preparing 2 surprise parties for you and we don't wanna spoil it!
