Hey Heroes,
This week we’re going to cover one of the heroes most trusted magical tools, the Wand!
Players that choose to wield a Wand will have a wide variety of spells at their disposal, giving access to both elemental and arcane abilities to combat enemies and even manipulate the environment.
Upon receiving your wand you’ll be able to cast Magic Missile using your starting rune, creating a barrage of projectiles that can strike down those that oppose you.
How do you get more runes? What spells do they unlock? What do these other spells do?
We’ll explain all of that below…
Wands, Runes and Spells!

As mentioned above, the Wand allows players to slot magic runes into it to cast a variety of spells at the cost of mana.
Every Wand wielding hero will need to explore the overworld of Tasos to find Rune Statues, where the Goddesses of Tasos will offer up new combat and utility runes to slot into your Wand, unlocking new spells!
It’s a kind of magic!

Fire Rune

Turn up the heat on your enemies with this early game rune!
Launch a flaming projectile that adds a burn stack on those it hits. Once enough stacks are accumulated the unlucky foe will set on fire, taking fire damage over time (DoT) and spreading to nearby enemies and flammable objects.
You can also use this spell to light bushes and torches for vision and utility purposes.
Ice Rune

Put your foes on ice with this projectile spell! On hitting enemies, the projectile will add a stack of freeze status that when filled with entrap said enemy in a block of ice for a period of time, or until shattered by a player.
Magic Missile

Unlike its elemental counterparts, this rune allows players to rapid-fire a series of smaller magic projectiles in a burst. This creates a more direct damage approach, increasing DPS at the cost of not applying a status effect.
Handy for dealing with swarms of enemies that are rushing you or your friends.
Moon
Moving away from offensive spells, it’s time to think big!
Accomplished magic users will be able to manipulate the time of day with this spell, changing the time of day to night with a raise of their Wand.
You have no need to fear the dark, but you should be very wary of what lurks within it. The cover of darkness will lead to bats and other creatures of the night to leave their lairs and roam the land…
Sun
The opposite of Moon, this spell changes the time of day to daytime! Raising your Wand to the sky with this spell will pass night to day, allowing your crops to grow in the warm sunlight.
Storm

Great for those heroes that enjoy inclement weather! Summon a storm at will and bring down rains to the lands of Tasos. Great for setting the scene before an epic dungeon raid or watering your farm!
That wraps up our first proper look at spells in Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos, hopefully you were spellbound by what you saw!
