Hey Heroes,
Welcome to the very first Heroes’ Hall, a weekly community update from the team here at Heliocentric Studios!
Each week from now, up to launch and beyond we’ll be sharing behinds the scenes looks at Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos, features of our game, upcoming content and more.
We’d also like to take these opportunities to answer your questions, so feel free to pop a question in the comments section and we’ll endeavor to answer them in the following week’s post for all to see.
Now then, let’s get stuck into this hero business!
The Seven Hero Classes of Rogue Heroes!
Whether you choose to venture alone or with a team of friends, the class you choose to play will determine your skills, movement abilities and base stats in Rogue Heroes.
Now we know Heroes come in all shapes and sizes, so we made sure our classes do too! Whether you like heavy armour and weapons, spellcasting, being a ranged bringer of justice or something in between - there’s a class for everyone!
Let’s take a look at them…
Hero
The Hero! A balanced starting class that is strong is all areas, but doesn’t necessarily excel in any given area.
But this isn’t necessarily a bad thing! Equipped with their sprint-dash they can face down almost any scenario and adapt to dangerous dungeons on the go!
Knight
The wall on which the monsters of the dungeons will break. The Knight fills the role of a tank, tough, hard hitting but slower than the other classes, Knights relish battle and can make use of their powerful ‘leap slam’ attack to engage groups of enemies or fall back to protect allies in an instant.
Ranger
A master of the bow and ranged combat, Rangers excel at maintaining damage and mobility with their rapid fire bow and ability to move swiftly whilst lining up their shots. If a monster manages to catch up with them they can use their dash ability to escape danger or reposition for the counter-attack!
Thief
One with the shadows, the Thief is unmatched at taking down priority targets and troublesome foes in a hectic fight without ever being seen by their mark.
Making use of their ‘fade’ ability they can temporarily go invisible with a boost to movement speed, perfect for positioning yourself by an unaware enemy to unleash a guaranteed critical hit when leaving stealth...
Mage
An expert in runes and magic, the Mage has a bonus to damage when using wands and spell runes, with a lower mana usage cost too! With this combination they can rain down magic damage to mobs and bosses alike… Just try not to get hit too much, robes aren’t great at stopping swords.
But hey, who need’s armour when you can use your ‘blink’ skill to warp through objects, enemies and traps in a near instant!
Witch
If you’re going into battle and need the strongest potions, then the Witch is for you! Witches are a resilient and highly mobile magic class that can maintain their presence and damage in a long battle with ease.
Witches are also one of two classes that can fly! That’s right, with their trusty broom they can use their ‘Flight’ skill to fly over pits, traps, spikes and leave enemies in the dust.
Pirate

A master at sea, the Pirate excels at swimming long distances and sniffing out buried treasure. With a bonus to stamina cost in the water they can reach places other heroes would find difficult. When you get close to some hidden loot the pirate's senses will tingle letting them know it's time to bust out the shovel and start digging.
Take wing on your trusty parrot and sail over the dangers that lie below.
Heroes Assemble!
That wraps up our introduction for the seven playing classes in Rogue Heroes. We’ll be going into more details about their skills and synergies as both solo and multiplayer picks in the future.
We’d love to know which of the classes has caught your eye already and why, so feel free to let us know in the comments section!
See you again next week Heroes!
