Progress report #1

Hello! In this post I will talk about the things that are currently being worked on for update #9.

Selling your engines

As mentioned in the "What's next? #1" post, one of the upcoming things is engine licensing. This is the feature I'm working on currently. It's functionality will be very simple: you will be able to select one engine out of all engines you've created that you wish to sell. The selected engine will be competing against the most attractive engine available in the "Engine Licensing" tab. The amount of sales, as well as the chance that you'll get sales each month, depends on how attractive your engine is in comparison to the competing engine, as well as what the price difference is between them.

If your engine is better than your competitor's, then you can get away with pricing it slightly higher. The pricing leeway depends on how much better your engine is.
Consequently, if you try to price your engine too high, then it will not sell well. The same applies to engines that are not very attractive - if you try to sell an engine that pales in comparison to the competition, then it won't sell much either, more so if the engine is being sold for a large sum of money.

German localization

German localization is currently almost finished. Because I started working on new things while the localization was ongoing, I've decided to release everything at once when it is all ready. It's less of a hassle to coordinate everything that way.

Decorational objects

These will be more than just decorational, a new Drive affector called "comfort" will also be added. It will not be mandatory (like food), but you will need to place a couple of decorational objects to make your office(s) more comfortable. Not having any decorational objects in your office(s) will incur a penalty to employee Drive level drop speeds. Likewise, having a comfortable office will slow the rate at which employee drive levels drop.

I might update the "develop" branch of the game with new features as they become ready. So if you'd like to see the new features a bit earlier, check up on that branch every once in a while. Keep in mind, however, that because the "develop" branch is, as the name implies, the development branch, there might be bugs and/or crashes.

Thank you for reading!
