Over the last few weeks, I've been preparing the next part of chapter 1 - The Orc War. It's been a long ride so far and there's still a long way to go. I've made some changes to the pieces currently in the game, but nothing too big. New players will now be able to enter The Elcott Mansion, which is the house next to Ruby's. Several doors have been sealed off until their story relevance is revealed. And of course, there were a number of bug fixes.
Moving on to what's new... Frost Forest is currently in development. This will be the area north of Auria. It will be made in a similar fashion to The Black Forest, in that each tile on the map (tile = 1 player step) will be expanded into a small zone. I don't want to give the goods about FF, but I want to let you in on the idea. This part of the game has somewhat of a minigame idea that I have rolling around in my head that I wanted to test out. The player basically needs to find something, then do something. From there, the effect of the player's action will remain for the duration of the game.
About what I've been doing (in real life)... I've been absolutely swamped with school, which is why the updates slowed down. However, I will be putting out a new update every weekend with any finished content - just to keep the ball rolling. For those of you that have been playing through, I'm going to work on expanding Agartha's challenges to really test you.
Preview: 1.1.0.1
- The goal for 1.1.0.1 is to remove the restrictions in Frost Forest to allow players to access the event.
That being said, here are the patch notes for 1.1.0.0 (The Orc War - Setup Phase)
1.1.0.0 [Build #12]
* The engine used to build Cross of Auria has been updated, prompting the update of several plugins. You may need to
start a new game to prevent errors in the save file. Until the game is finished, we may run into this issue
from time to time, thought it won't be often.
* This is the first of a weekly update series. See https://www.facebook.com/CrossOfAuria for more information.
