- Added input options to navigate between pages of the Holomento (book) menu
New Potion Menu System
The existing potion wheel was buggy and unfinished so it has been replaced with a new linear potion selection system. In the potion menu, an infinite horizontal scrolling menu has been added to access all potion types and an infinite vertical component has been added to change their size. More details of this system are listed below:
- The traveler can now carry an unlimited amount of each potion type and size
- New (infinite) linear potion selection menu - horizontal input selects potion type, vertical input selects potion size
- Potion buffs are now displayed on the side of the potion menu and main user interface. When the potion menu is open, the name of each buff and time remaining for that buff are shown
- Using multiple of the same potion now stacks the effect and increases the duration
- New custom inputs for potion selection can be changed in the options menu
- Small potions are now less effective and last for a shorter duration
- Large potions are now more effective and last longer
- Reduced potion spawns for all enemies.
New Weather System
The weather system has been completely reworked. Weather is now dynamic and will change every 5 (realtime) minutes. More details on the new system below:
- There are now 4 states of weather: Sunny, Cloudy, Rainy/Snowy and Thunderstorms/Blizzards.
- When entering/leaving snowy locations, rain and thunderstorms will automatically (and smoothly) switch to snow storms and blizzards.
- Snowy locations now support sunny and cloudy weather.
- Clouds have been reworked and will now move slowly across the sky.
- Rain and thunderstorms will now never occur in the central valley and desert
- The lighting system and skybox have also been tweaked to give certain areas a more cinematic look.
- Some locations have color overlay effects (post-processing) that still need tweaked - these should be polished in the next few patches.
Bow Rework
Bows have been very similar to a mage's magic fist projectiles since Holomento's inception. The intent of this rework is to make them feel distinct and more like a "sharpshooter" weapon type (focusing on aim precision and high damage single shots). Many aspects of bows have changed to reflect these changes. More details below.
- The "Fire" input can no longer be held for bows - it must be pressed to fire
- Bows now have a significantly longer draw time (~ +0.75 seconds)
- Dodging while drawing does NOT reset your draw (you can dodge enemies while charging up a shot)
- Bows now do significantly more damage (~ +10 on average)
- While aiming, the traveler now walks
- Aiming zooms in the camera as the bow is drawn
- Arrows remain in the air for twice as long as other projectiles (2 seconds vs. 1 second)
- Max Fire Rate for Bows has been reduced from 5 shots/sec to 2 shots/sec
- Regeneration bar now reflects bow draw percent (full bar means bow is ready to fire)
- Bows can only be fired once fully drawn (this may be reworked to allow for quick shots that do less/damage and travel a shorter distance)
- Added a visual arrow when bow is being drawn and aimed
- Fixed a bug where bows wouldn't fire properly
- Fixed a bug where bows would sometimes fire twice
Bug Fixes and Optimization

Known Issues
- Having multiple abilities and swapping abilities is currently bugged. Sometimes abilities will disappear and sometimes they will appear on the wrong slot.
- There are several soft-lock spots throughout the Hollow that have not been fixed yet. As I work to fix these, please be patient and use the "report issues" feature to report any new soft-lock locations you find.
Enjoy 0.4.21!
