From the former Umbrella employee chewing on Kevin in Resident Evil right up to the fleshy fodder of Dead Island, Dying Light, and State of Decay, the humble zombie remains a videogame mainstay. We've shot them, chopped them, zapped them with electricity - we've killed zombies by the millions, using every method imaginable. But World War Z, the supremely underrated and underplayed undead survival sim from Saber, offers something unique. More than any of its rivals, it delivers ghouls in enormous numbers, challenging you to take down hordes that feel almost impossible in size. If you've never tried it before, the expanded edition, World War Z Aftermath, is now completely free to keep.
