Our next patch contained a few adjustments and improvements from our previous build. The major adjustment in this patch was to the hands placement for Rift users. You should find the hands should be better matched in location and rotation. The mounting of weapons was quickly adjusted, but we are mostly interested in the hand location for this patch.
In this patch we introduced a new weapon: a new mine based projectile weapon. This new weapon shoots mines that can be used to lay traps for advancing players (or to pin them into a certain area).
Along with these adjustments we made input changes to pills, shots, and grenades. They no longer require holding down the trigger to keep them in your hand and use the trigger to grab, grip to drop, and trigger again to “use”. Grenades also received a tweak to hopefully fix a few issues throwing them and to make the trajectory a bit more accurate.
Lastly we made some adjustments to the HLOD settings in the map to hopefully fix a few stuttering FPS issues.
Audio
- Fixed the clicking sound not playing when grabbing the rifle or handgun with your 2nd hand.
- Fixed the inventory sound not working for pills and stems.
Interactive Objects
- Pills and Shots now are pickup with trigger and drop with grip to keep things consistent. If you push the trigger near your head it will work like before, but you don’t have to constantly hold the trigger down to keep holding it.
- Grenades received a similar change. You now have to press the trigger to throw them and you no longer need to hold the trigger. There is no force requirement now so if you want to drop the grenade and set it live you can, so be careful. Using the grip button will drop the grenade regardless of any velocity now.
- Adjusted the velocity code on the grenades to use better tracking and to offset the player’s movement so you can throw it better when moving.
Leader Board
- Fixed an issue where you would disconnect and your round information would not be stored to the DB.
Maps
- Fixed a bug which was not displaying some of the text on the tip signs in the client lobby from a distance.
Miscellaneous
- Stuns now support variable screen effects.
- Adjusted the hand position for Rift to better match the location of your hands.
Optimization
- Made HLOD proxy adjustments in an effort to prevent or reduce stuttering movement.
- Replaced door models with transparent bits with a solid metal door to aid in occlusion.
User Interface
- Added an option to switch the mirror mode to fullscreen (either windowed fullscreen or normal fullscreen). It is in the video settings.
- Switched Rift users over to HMD Mirror mode 4 as it is the full window version that is preferred for video capture.
Weapons
- Introduced new Mine Launcher weapons. These weapons shoot grenades which transform into mines upon impact. If they land on top of a player or bot they will also deal instant damage, though less than other explosives. These are good ambush weapons if you can catch players rushing to beat the gas.
- Grenades now support a second particle effect played on the thrower when they land.
- Teleportation Grenades now have an effect play at the owner's original position so players understand they teleported rather than thinking it was a bug or speed hack.
- Grenade Launcher projectiles now have a bit less bounce to them and a 6 second bounce limit.
