After the update, we applied a hotfix Wednesday (3.0.0.1) to address a few issues that arose, and we want to make sure the community is aware of the steps we took! Further actions to resolve the exploit were taken on Thursday.
In 3.0.0.1, most importantly, we fixed the exploit introduced in 3.0.0.0 through which players were able to purchase green items from the NPC vendors and dismantle them for enhancement materials (Pieces of Ymir’s Skin). The probability of obtaining materials when dismantling Magic grade items purchased through NPC vendors has since been reduced to negate the exploit.
We also fixed the issue where players could run Zeeto’s Laboratory more than once per day. No more living in Zeeto’s lab, folks, sorry!
On Thursday, we took actions to resolve any unfair advantages gained by players due to the exploit that was hotfixed in 3.0.0.1.
Actions:
- All players who abused this bug had their items removed.
- If the items were unable to be removed, they had their market access taken away, and have been sent an in-game mail with instructions on how to remove their market restrictions.
- Players must either collect the required items so we can remove them from their account, or pay an approximate gold value for the items they acquired through this exploit. Users who are unable to return the proper number of items, or pay for the items will be given the option to have their upgraded items removed from their characters in order to regain access to the market.
We also wanted to clarify some points of the patch notes regarding the new level 50 dungeon (Zeeto’s Laboratory) that may have led to confusion among players.
In the patch notes, due to the wording, some players thought that only level 50 players could now enter Siege of Castra, Arenas, and Peninsular War. However, the entrance requirement level for these have not changed; upon entering these areas, the player’s character will be scaled up to level 50 (rather than level 45, as was the case previously) for the duration of the instance. We have adjusted the patch notes now as well to better reflect this meaning.
