Two new locations are added to the simulator: New York and Paris! That totals six locations to choose from in Endless ATC. Here's a list of what's new in this update:
- Added Paris Charles de Gaulle (LFPG), with Orly (LFPO) as a secondary airport. Note that flights over the city of Paris are only allowed at FL66 or higher.
- Added New York (KJFK), with Laguardia (KLGA) and Newark (KEWR) as 'secondary' airports (although all three fields are quite busy); this can indeed get chaotic very quickly! It's a really challenging airspace. Note that all departures here fly on a heading, instead of the usual SID mode. So you'll need to enable SID mode manually at some point to clear them to their departure fix. In real life, the New York tracon is very complex due to the large amount of traffic and the many airports closely together. Planes from JFK therefore often steer eastbound, on a certain climb route to avoid getting near other fields, then get some vectors before they are cleared to a departure gate. In the game, this is simplified to one heading and then you can just enabling SID mode when the it's safe to do so.
- Reduced separation to from 3.0 to 2.5NM for planes on the ILS, when they're closer than 10 miles from the runway; this avoids incidents due to compression when the planes reduce speed.
- Added more SIDs to the London area.
- Various minor adjustments.
Enjoy!
