Current saves should be retained per-computer.
HOWEVER, (in the rare case that it is not);
Safe to carry over older version save file?
-Go ahead. (Though you will be missing some bits)
How do I save my current save file to use it in an upcoming update?
-Go to the TinkerQuarry Steam folder and locate each file that says "save". Copy these to a separate folder and carry them back over to the new version once it updates. Until Steam Cloud is implemented, all saves will be wiped from the Steam Folder, so it is recommended to save them elsewhere if the next version is compatible.
