Dear Martians,
One of the games most important mechanic are FLOPS. So what are FLOPS exactly, how do they work and how can you gather them in Memories of Mars?

FLOPS are an acronym for "FLoating Point Operations Per Second."
In computing, floating point operations per second (FLOPS, flops or flop/s) is a measure of computer performance. In Memories of Mars however it's a bit more complicated and also a bit more interesting, keep reading.
Everything on Mars needs processing power aka FLOPS in order to operate and everyone on Mars needs FLOPS to improve and progress.
What are Flops used for?
FLOPS in Memories of Mars are used for 3 main objectives:
Base maintenance: Keeping a structure operational requires Flops and the bigger the building, the more Computing power is needed.
Decrypting Blueprints: Blueprints allow a player to 3D Print items, weapons, armor etc. However, to decrypt the digital blueprint the player will have to exchange Flops.
Player Progression: Skills, abilities and memories are unlocked in exchange for Flops. These skills improve the player character‘s chance of survival by giving them access to new and more powerful blueprints to build more efficient structures and items.
How to obtain Flops?
On Mars there are 3 methods to gain FLOPS:
FLOPS events: These are dynamic events that signal all players on a server to go toward a set location to fight other players to be rewarded FLOPS. This is the high risk high reward method of gaining FLOPS.
Enemies: The surface of Mars is crawling with a variety of robotic systems/creatures which provide FLOPS if defeated and looted. This method is less dangerous than fighting players in FLOPS events… or not.
Player Interaction: FLOPS are loot and like all loot, FLOPS can be stolen from other players or freely exchanged through trade.
Exploration: Lastly, you can also find FLOPS through exploration of abandoned facilities in containers.
Let us know if you have any questions in regards to FLOPS :)
