Hello vinyl DJs, long time no see...
While I needed a bit of a break after developing Vinyl Reality solo for more than six years, behind the scenes I've been quietly working on a couple of new apps that aim to continue and build upon it's legacy.
The first of those apps to be released is Vinyl Desktop, basically a desktop version of Vinyl Reality's turntable that functions as an easy-to-use audio player.
Simply drag and drop any supported audio file onto the turntable, and it will be load as a vinyl record. Magic!
While this might seem like a simple asset flip, under the hood I've ported most of Vinyl Reality's codebase to a new engine (from Unity to Godot), and this port will also serve as the basis for another (much larger) unannounced project ;)
So if you're looking for a unique audio player that realistically simulates a vinyl turntable, or just want to support my work, please consider grabbing a copy of Vinyl Desktop!
It is now available on Steam for both Windows and Linux.
