Hey Everyone,
After an extremely long delay in production due to numerous reasons and some unfortunate events, we are back, with the engine rewrite that took months to complete.
Same time we underestimated the complexity of this major engine update that we took on, and got carried away, as updating to the newest Unity engine allowed us to really clean the code, and improve so many areas of the game. Now we are finally at a point where we can start showing our progress.
At this point we are starting to assemble all the elements of the game back together using this closed beta build. So players who are interested in seeing our progress can access it by activating the beta mode for Stars end on Steam.
This new build of the game, is not fully playable, and honestly we only expect it to be fully polished by mid summer. We`ll keep this update as a beta alongside the current version of the game meanwhile.
The current build has many elements working, but we are enabling some mid and late game content one by one. We also waiting to completely update the Beta Prairie planet, new worlds are much prettier and fun to explore.
Meanwhile lets talk about what you can already see in the new build.
New fully offline mode is there
Updated game engine looks mostly the same visually, as we have focused on functionality vs visual updates for now, but you will notice everything works a lot faster, smoother and just all in all better. Loading times now take seconds instead of minutes for example.
All the framework and back-end work is complete, so now it`s just about getting all the new features playable.
We will work on bringing a big update to this beta later in June, and switch to the new build is July.
Thanks for believing in us, and your support. We will get Stars End finished right, but all the good things do take time.
