Todays update is focused on the current state and the future. Diorama Worlds was listed as early access simply because I wanted to add more content to really make it feel worth the price tag. Currently every feature works as originally intended except multiplayer sandbox play. And only a few bugs have popped up that need to be fixed. I have decided to put the sandbox play on hold while I work on a secondary project, but will be revisiting this if the community grows enough to justify it.
Additionally, I will be slowing down on the content updates since the project is not generating steady revenue, but I do feel this project has been a huge success and still has plenty of room to grow! I will continue to add content with any revenue the experience generates while I work on my next project. I have high hopes for the summer sale, there are currently over 550 people who have DW on their wishlist! And I am planning a big discount. (For 8 bucks is it worth the wait? =P)
This project will never be done, and there is always going to be more to add to it. I will continue to follow the community and address all feedback. Also I got a little carried away with version numbers. I should have done 1.0.1 instead of jumping straight to 1.1.
Patch 1.0.9 will be released by the end of May and will contain the following:
Trains, Space, and Indoors added to the low poly town packs.
Fixes to the missing textures on the low poly town vehicles.
Patch 1.1 will be released in June and contain the low poly fantasy set with the same style as the low poly town and appocolypse. Outdoors, characters, temples and dungeons are all planned for this pack.
I just want to take a minute to plug Synty Studios. They are the suppliers of all the low poly assets that have been added and they work amazing. There are a few packs they have that will be added in still, but after those I will likely be focusing on more content for the HQ Fantasy sets. After that I plan to start getting more space scene content. (Space content is typically more expensive tho)
The goal was 3-6 months in early access to add in content and polish, then transition into full release. I am on track for getting a good amount of content and am sure I can still hit that deadline for the remaining bugs and polish that it needs. Stay tuned for more information on my next project, Built with Diorama World!
