This update we’ve done considerable optimizations to the game with the aum of increasing performance, plus we have re-attempted migration to 4.18 of UE4 after fixing various issues we had previously.
Patch Notes:
Environment
- Added replacement to Distance-field ambient occlusion, which was bit costly and not fully compatible with everything we wanted to do. This should give a FPS boost to users who played in Ultra previously.
- Added optimizations to rendering targets so GPU time should be down significantly, giving FPS boost to High and Ultra Quality Levels.
- Added significant foliage optimizations which should give a small FPS boost on all quality levels.
- Added audio attenuation (fading) for clubs and houses, plus overall increased audio quality.
- Added various revisions to lighting to improve performance and visuals for all quality levels.
- Fixed climbing holds on Naupata not working correctly
- Fixed various terrain painting on Naupata.
- Fixed various rock placement on Nauapta.
- Fixed various terrain painting on Kiokio.
- Fixed various fish rising above water level in a few spots.
- Fixed water-based audio not complying with options audio sliders.
- Fixed various foliage LODs a little close
General
- Added migration to UE4 4.18 version bringing improved audio streaming.
- Added various optimizations to the way our HUD is handled, giving possible minor FPS boosts for low end users.
- Added improvements to character skin material, to adapt better to revised lighting.
- Fixed various instances where player was able to enter movement states they shouldn’t have been able to at current position.
- Fixed audio collision ranges on cinemas.
