We’ve migrated the game to the newest version of the Unreal Engine with this update (4.19 from 4.18), plus included a bunch of media improvements. Please let us know if you experience any issues with this update :)
Specifically for media playback we’ve added a secondary decoder, which upon the standard framework failing to load a video, which it does with some formats, it will pass the video over this and attempt to load it there instead. This will mean some videos that might not have played previously will now play.
Patch Notes:
Environment
- Fixed collisions on large telescope arrays and propane tanks.
- Fixed various terrain painting on Kiokio.
- Fixed various torch placement on Kiokio.
General
- Added unreal engine migration to 4.19 from 4.18.
- Added improved codec support for media playback, so will play even more formats. This will continue to use the existing player where media will play, but upon failure to load it will then attempt to load with a secondary player.
- Added improvements to some cinema screens, they will now project in real time the light of what’s playing on the screen onto the ground and area. This will be tweaked over future updates.
- Added support for temporal upscaling, this will present a sharper image when employing a lower resolution scale (Slightly sharper image using lower graphics settings, essentially. If you want a few extra fps, set your resolution scale to around 90% and it will look pretty close, but give you better performance).
- Added various adjustments to low quality graphics settings. Now has less foliage, but better tonemapping.
- Fixed an issue with the Cinema screen placement on Naupata.
