UPDATE - 01/08/17
We have released a hotfix to squash a few bugs (hopefully for good!) Hop on over to the mini-thread here!
Constructor Patch 4 - Better Homes and Gardens Update
Patch 4 HYPE! Let's all be as excited as this guy!
Welcome to Constructor's fourth patch, you lovely people! It is I, your brightful BrightPaw with another amazing announcement for you, the beautiful fans of Constructor! What a month it's been and what an update we have in store for you! After much deliberation we tracked and squashed the slow-motion issue that would've made Neo blush! It's our hope that these changes also carry over to multiplayer and allow our wonderful fans to participate in some juicy four player chaos!
In addition we've made a fair few changes to the multiplayer code and hope that your experience is much better. As such we would appreciate your feedback on the latest multiplayer fixes. Why the long wait for all of this? Well... it Texas time to implement all of these wonderful things!
Oh, come on, it wasn't that bad of a pun. Erm, speaking of Texas...
We're happy to announce that our second set of blue-prints will soon be ready for your estate manager to review! These prints were inspired by some of the more unique offerings of the good ol' US of A and were collected over what can only be described as "the world's longest road trip." It's also at this point you, the lovely reader, are trying to imagine what a car full of developers would look like and it's with great sadness I must report that it was more of a tour bus.
The set of blue-prints will explore a variety of architecture from the shabby trailers of Montana, the weathered houses of Cape Cod all the way up to the grand Neo-Classical design. If you're feeling particularly patriotic then you'll be glad to know you can express it in the form of the towering Monument of Washington or the awe-inspiring Statue of Liberty - your tenants will be glad you did!
We hope to have these blue-prints ready for your use very soon and hope that you love the look of the new buildings. Our favourites are the "Wright Modern" and the "Airstream Trailer". If you have a particular building you're looking forward to using let us know in the comments!
By the way, if you're just joining us now and are curious on how things have changed you can take a look at the previous patches in order of release here(2017).
Of course, if you're simply after the latest changes in this patch you will find them below!
What's new in this patch?
New Features
- Brazilian-Portuguese is now available - special thanks to Octávio Augusto whose assistance in proof-reading the translation was greatly appreciated! :fhappy:
- Garden objects (such as garden furniture) can now provide different happiness (or stress) to tenants.
- Tenants will now gain happiness from certain fences.
- Tenant's rent is also influenced by the house itself – not just the free-hold value.
- Breeding speed can be influenced by the sort of house a tenant is placed inside. This affects each tenant differently!
- DIY Repair Kits – two for one special. You can now manufacture two repair kits at a time rather than one, and the factory cap has been lifted to ten at a time in storage. This should help our fans keep their buildings in check late-game!
General Fixes
- Attempting to move characters to illegal positions on certain parts of Burgerville no longer causes the game to crash.
- Falling below 60FPS no longer causes the game to enter into super slow-motion.
- Police will no longer get stuck when attempting to arrest a deceased character.
Multiplayer Fixes
- Ingame message character limit increased to 80.
- Network lobbies are no longer displayed until they have been fully initialised.
- Friends can no longer join your game through the friend's list if they're already in a game with you.
- Slow machines should no longer cause issues during multiplayer games.
- Multiplayer lobbies are no longer able to be joined after the game has started.
- Host setup no longer causes players to be thrown out during custom game startup.
We would like to thank all of our faithful Constructor fans for their continued support and patience, and wish you all a wonderful week of Constructor!
