Laser League - Plans, Ideas and Play Sessions

Greetings, players. We know you guys are keen to know what’s next for Laser League, but please understand we were taking the time to carefully consider the best options for the game going forward.

The first content update dropped in early March, adding a brand-new stadium, seven new maps and two new power-ups. We’ve continued to monitor Laser League’s performance as well as across our community channels to understand the reception among the community.

We’re very aware that we’ve got a great game on our hands, but that not enough people are playing. And the lack of players means that you guys, the Laser League hardcore, are struggling to get into matches that are appropriately competitive. Or, let’s be honest, to get into matched with enough human players full stop.

That’s clearly a problem we need to solve, and we’ve got plans in motion to drastically increase the number of players in the game. These involve working with external partners, so while we’d love to spill all the details right now we’ll announce the detail closer to the time.

When is all this happening?
The activity to swell the player base is planned for April. We’d have loved to have something sooner, but that’s the earliest we can synch up the level of activity we want with the highest caliber of partners. It will be worth the wait. There are also massive announcements to follow regarding activity in May and beyond, which will expand the Laser League universe as we currently know it.

What’s the catch?
Well, we had originally planned to deliver monthly content drops to demonstrate our commitment to the title. We’re now holding the content we had planned to release in April, as we focus instead on the concurrent players. That content isn’t lost, it’s in the bank to release when we’ve come through this next phase of player acquisition. Expect more stadiums with new maps and power ups as a minimum. We are also considering other possible content, like additions to the ability modifiers.

What about in the immediate future?
Well… We are currently working with an idea to run weekly online sessions with our community. This will involve us here at Roll7 and 505 Games, playing online with you guys, at set times. Not only that, but we’d like to tie these in with some small giveaways across our social channels. Stay tuned for more info! We are just putting together the final pieces as we speak!

We’ll see you on the pitch, and sincere thanks for all your support and positivity so far.
