Time flies! We’re reaching the end of 2017. This time last year we marched on to Red Tides’ Open Beta on Steam, curious of this unknown world like newborn children. During 2017 we met many new commanders. They are lovely and sincere, giving us constant inspiration. The challenging year is coming to an end, but our expedition to the unknown continues. Now let’s talk about some of the great things that happened in 2017 as well as our plans in 2018.
In the year 2017, our Open Beta on Steam ended in January, and in June we launched the Early Access on Steam. In September we had the global release on the App Store, and Red Tides was recommended by App Store in 154 countries and regions. Then in December we were awarded Game of the Year by the App Store in China. We also fought together through Season 0, Season 1, and Winter League. We enjoyed the 1V1 Ranked, 2V2 Ranked, the Arena, Global Warzone, Halloween Event, and the Winterfest. We explored new maps such as Sunset Canyon, Black Mine, and Snow Town. Besides, we added the opening cinematic, and more importantly 10 other languages! We also developed systems like Command Academy, News, Events, Daily Quests, and Red Tides TV. The year 2017 witnessed Red Tides’ fantastic expedition in the unknown world. Our journey will continue in 2018!
Our plans for the coming year are as follows:
1. We plan to regularly release more units and skins.
2. This year we received messages concerning unit balance, so we will focus on balance adjustment. We may also rework some units.
3. We plan to keep the Arena open, and introduce new modes to Arena.
4. Currently we’re considering re-opening 1V1 Ranked, which may be based on rules of Joint Operation.
5. In the aspect of battles, we will make adjustment to fix some long-existing problems, and see how it goes in the Arena. We’ll then decide whether to introduce such adjustments into other game modes.
6. Thank you for loving the background story and art design of Red Tides. We will add more related content in the upcoming year!
