Update v1.201

Welcome to Einlanzer version 1.201!

There are a lot of small but significant changes and additions to the game in this update. Each change will be described in detail below:

New Rewards for Being Dishonorable

There is a HUGE reward for making honorable decisions through the course of Einlanzer in the form of the powerful Excalibur late in the game, but there were few benefits to being dishonorable other than taking trinkets here and there when Alice/Galadin frowns upon it. Now there are three distinct advantages to being dishonorable to balance the big reward for being honorable.

New Vile Equipment
Previously, the strongest base item type in the game were "Diamond" weapons and armor. In v1.201, there is now even more powerful "Vile" weapons and armor that are only available if you have been fairly consistently dishonorable. They are not drastically more powerful than the Diamond weapons. Also the weapons lower luck and HP, and the armor lowers luck and MP to balance the weapons a bit. There is a new item seller of the Vile equipment in The Abyss after the Nightmare Gate.

Diamond Equipment Seller in Canan
Previously, "Diamond" level equipment was not able to be obtained (except for a few chests) until the player reaches The Abyss. Now, there is a way to purchase Diamond equipment in Canaan. There is a new nixie added to the north section of Yggdrasil Woods. This nixie will have an honor event (gain or lose some honor depending on your choices) and sell you Diamond equipment if she doesn't sense that you're a do-gooder like the angels. In other words, if you have too many good deeds in your past, she won't sell you the gear.

Masterwork Equipment Seller in Riddari Castle
Similar to the Vile and Diamond equipment, there is an event when you are inside the back halls of Riddari Castle where you have an option to purchase Masterwork gear earlier than normal. You will not be given this opportunity if Finn thinks you're too good.

Victor's Invincible Rage Skills Rework

A build has been discussed in the community for making Victor permanently invincible. Previously, if you put enough RP building items on Vic, a Blessed Ribon, and used either Undying Rage or Perfect Rage, you could keep the invincible effect going permanently. While it is fun to experiment and find strategic builds/equipment sets, this one was game-breaking. You could do this build to defeat any enemy later in the game. Also, while doing this strategy, battles would take FOREVER.

Victor's "Undying Rage" and "Perfect Rage" skills no longer add the invulnerable status effect. Now, a "Damage Halved" status effect is applied for these skills. Absolutely all damage Victor takes while this status effect is applied is halved (similar to Guard, but he can still take actions). This will retain the original intention for these skills--Victor will still be a tanky behemoth, but the "Invincible Victor" strategy will be impossible.

Tiamat and Void Demon Rebalancing

Partly because of the Victor rework, the last two enemies in the Colosseum have been rebalanced. Players were having too much trouble defeating these bosses (this resulted in players figuring out and resorting to the Invincible Victor build). Both enemies now have less offensive capabilities but more HP. This will cause the fights to still be epic, strain your resources a bit more, but not be quite as difficult.

New Accessory that Lowers Encounter Rate

Based on player feedback in the community, a new item has been added to the game. In the massive corkscrew that leads to Yvalak's Chambers in The Abyss, there is one side path that leads to a group of treasure chests. One formerly held a single, boring, tent. Now, this chest contains the "Crystal of Warding," an accessory that raises magic power, magic defense, and luck slightly. It's primary function is that it halves the amount of random encounters that occur.

This item is given very late in the game for a specific reason. Once this point in the game is reached, there are basically no more dungeons to traverse (except the secret epic difficulty dungeon). If players want to go to previous dungeons and explore, this item will allow this to be done without having to fight nearly as many time-consuming, easy enemies.

Aesthetic Changes to The Abyss

The Abyss is supposed to be a whole new realm with living, intelligent creatures. Previously, it felt more like simply the last dungeon. Many things have been added to The Abyss to help establish a living-breathing realm-like feel. Abyss monster NPCs have been added throughout The Abyss that you can talk to. Most have unique dialogue that let you have a deeper idea of how Abyss creatures live and think. Also, floating jellyfish overhead have been added to most areas of The Abyss to make it feel even more atmospheric.

As always, please spend a couple minutes writing a review of Einlanzer. It helps tremendously!

Enjoy!
