Hello hello! This base game update introduces a new ship class, the Multi-Purpose Cruiser. Although mostly a non-combat vessel, don't let that fool you! These ships are well equipped for combat along with many other various duties. Packing 1 medium and 1 light laser they are the most heavily armed non-combat vessels in the game. They can provide a good variety of support as well, things such as resources, materials, luxury items and even personnel can be provided. So it will never hurt to attempt to strike up a good conversation with their captain's and possibly get some good stuff. So which factions have these ships? Currently the Lucicron, Orpheous, and Nomad although it is very possible more races may also get these vessels as well in future updates! So try them out but remember, be careful these are not your usual non-combat ships :)
