Update #16

Hot on the heels of Update #15, there's another big update incoming!

New graphics! Shadows! Lights! Real boxing shorts! Posters! Hurrah!

I've also taken the opportunity to rewrite and streamline many different areas of the game that had gotten pretty monstrous since launch. Expect some bugs! Please let me know if you find any as well as any other feedback you have on the Steam forum or at my email at [email protected].

There are still a few rough edges to the new graphics that I'll be cleaning up, and I'll continue to tweak a few of the new models. Next up, I plan on going through opponent by opponent and really polishing the AI up to let the opponents act how I want them to. I'll also be working in new opponents as part of that process.

Now I have to get new screenshots and a new video... ːsteamfacepalmː

Change list:

  • New graphics!
  • Revamped player and opponent body interactions (again!). You can can kind of parry now.
  • Revamped how the AI chooses to swing at you. They'll now aim specifically for weak spots on your head.
  • Made some changes to force read-out, hit registration, and how well the punch tracking system handles jumpy or low framerates. For those of you reporting issues with hits not registering well after the last patch - please let me know how this update is working for you.

Known issues:

  • The player model's legs are bending the wrong way, so you do the splits when you squat.
  • There are a few rough edges with the new graphics that still need to be polished a bit.
  • Zombie Joe shakes violently when he gets knocked out.

Thanks, everyone!
