Note: For those looking to try out the beta, you can do so by right clicking the game in Steam, going to "Properties", clicking the "Betas" tab, and choosing the "beta" option from the dropdown.
Hello beta testers! I'm pushing out a new update now with some tweaks to the auto-calibration system. Most importantly, I fixed a bug that was making pretty much every knockdown the player scored result in a KO.
Also in this update are changes to the player's blockboxes. The goal is to reduce the chances of players blocking the opponent on accident while still allowing intentional blocks to work reliably.
And yet another thing to look out for is that the "weak point" system was tweaked pretty heavily in this update. There are specific zones on each opponent's head that greatly increase the damage you deal when you hit them in the right direction. For example, landing an uppercut to the chin or a hook to the temple. These weak points have existed since the round system was added, but in this beta update, I've changed their size and placement to emphasis precise strike and hopefully also to make them fire off more reliably. For now, when you hit a weak point, the opponent will let out a grunt, but that might change in the future.
If you give the beta a try, please head on over to the feedback thread and let me know about the above three items: http://steamcommunity.com/app/494150/discussions/0/1473096694437703386/
As always, don't be shy to leave any other feedback you may have as well. Thank you!
- Fixed a bug making the opponent stay down for the count far too often.
- Made the auto-calibration system take longer to adjust your multiplier upward after you haven't landed a hard hit in awhile and made the upward adjustment less jumpy.
- Reworked the size, shape, and placement of the opponent weak point triggers with the goal of making them take more skill to hit but also fire off more reliably when you hit in the correct spot.
- Adjusted the player's fist hitbox also with the goal of making the weak point triggers require more precision but fire more reliably.
- Opponents will now make a grunt sound when you hit a weak point. This may only stay in for beta test purposes, but I like the positive feedback it gives.
- You might notice a boxing dummy over in the corner. He's not ready yet, but I hope to make him reachable soon. You'll notice some black Xs on him that mark the weak points you'll find on opponents.
- Adjusted the player's blockbox size, shape, and placement with the goal of reducing the chance of the player accidentally blocking the opponent when they didn't intend to.
- Adjusted opponent swing speed range to be faster on average.
- Fixed a bug allowing your height to get set on the weigh in stage while your headset was sitting on the floor.
- Adjusted shouting clip loop for the gym crowd.
