Hello Masters!
As the portal closes, it’s no longer possible to gather portal keys and get free versions of the new Master and Cards. Fear not, however, for it’s possible to craft and buy them as any other content would be.
In addition to that, we’ve got a new card and an exciting Master rework for this update :)
NEW Card
- Drone Buzzers - these two flying drones are fast and fragile, but can provide great air support at range!
Portal event content now available for all
- The portal event has ended, and Milloween and the two new spells are now available for purchase and crafting to everyone
- Milloween - This Master hails from a proud magic tradition and wields immense power, though she isn’t always in full control. Focused on Spells, she uses them to empower her attack and the Arcane Golem which follows her everywhere she goes.
- Hypnotize - A Legendary Spell which converts all enemy Minions caught in the area for a few seconds.
- Spirit Infusion - A Rare Spell that empowers random friendly Minions with additional health
Balance
- Ratbo’s Second perk - Showoff - reworked to ability More Dakka! More Dakka! is a card that shoots the nearest enemy for damage based on the number of Minions Ratbo has on the field. --Designer comments-- Ratbo has long been a bit of an issue for us. He was very easy to play, extremely easy to create winning strategies with, and rather frustrating to play against. However, at the same time he was performing rather poorly at higher levels of play. While we’d like to keep him simple and true to his aggressive nature, we also wanted to introduce something that added some depth to him, and made him more fun as an opponent as well. More Dakka! gives him a tool that can be very powerful in the right hands, but requires timing and knowledge to get the full value out of. It still provides Ratbo with a global presence, but makes it more fun (hopefully) as an event rather than constant pressure. We’re excited to see how the community uses this ability, and will be closely monitoring Ratbo feedback going forwards.
- Laser turret - Attack Speed from 1.2 to 1.4, Damage from 20 to 40 --Designer comments-- This change aims to make the Laser Turret even better at handling extremely big units, such as the Red Golem or Troubadour. The turret should feel much the same against many units, but the maximum potential it can reach is now higher, making it more effective against units with more than 1000 health.
- Red golem health mechanic reworked - It now has 800 health by default, but doubled health if its Master is below 50% health. --Designer comments-- The Red Golem is an interesting Minion that might have been too extreme in its usage. The new design will make it less of a dead card in your starting hand, and it will allow for more counters if it gets big. Additionally it might be easier to understand it, as it’s now built on the Blue Golem health stats. Lastly this design choice was also influenced by the upcoming 2on2 feature, which it now fits better.
- Gax egg health up from 40 to 50. --Designer comments-- Gax is one of the least used cards in the game, and we find that a lot of the reason you don’t want to play him is because he is very easily countered in his egg state by the same things that counter other boomers, with an even greater mana loss in his case. This change aims to lessen that blow, by requiring slightly more powerful spells, and perhaps giving Daggerfall some more reason to be included in decks.
- The Wizard Puff’s death ability can no longer target Masters on the field, such as Settsu.
- If Settsu is hypnotized on the field, she now becomes stunned instead of converted
