Announcing the Update for Ver. 3!

Hi All

Finally the wait is over!
Dungeons & Darkness's massive update to Ver3 is now out!
Lots of things have been changed and added, below is everything listed that's new.

Ver3 Update - Contents

  • Added many new weapons, shields and armor.
  • Fixed enemy AI, added attack patterns and motions.
  • Completely renewed the UI.
  • Now you can set up camp while in the dungeon. A set number are automatically dispersed in each quest. When KO'd in the dungeon, you can return to the camp with the same status as when you set it up. (Basically a checkpoint)
  • Added elements and properties to weapons and armor. We replaced having parameters with properties such as "Slash", "Blunt", or elements such as "Fire" and "Ice", physical/magic attacks and so on. Also edited how parameters increase for accessories.
  • Added resistance/weakness for monsters and made it possible to discover them. When you strike a monster, the game will tell you whether the attack was effective or not. The analysis will be shown on the status screen.
  • Carry limit system has been altered. Equipment limit is measured in number of items; tool limit is calculated by total weight. Up to 30 weapons/armor/accessories can be carried. (The amount of tools you can carry can be increased with special skills or obtaining a larger satchel).
  • Revised slots (number of slots, switching slots) At the tools shop, you can buy an Expansive Slot Satchel giving you up to 4 slots. You can switch between slots using the "5" key on your keyboard, or pressing on the left stick on your controller.
  • Changed how the parameter DEX (Dexterity) works. It no longer affects your attack speed. Now it only affects movement speed and the attack power of your bow.
  • About armor weight: Wearing heavier armor will slow your movement speed more. Having higher DEX will heighten your movement speed.
  • Changed how arrows are used: Arrow weight changed from 0 to 1. Added quiver as equipment. You must equip both the quiver and bow to use arrows. Arrows will be the same no matter which kind of quiver you equip.
  • Changed parameters for leveling up.
  • Items and collectibles are picked up automatically. Item and collectible drops are picked up automatically, except for when you have reached the maximum weight limit. The item you picked up will be displayed momentarily in the upper-right of the screen.
  • Revised how the tutorial is displayed. Instead of being displayed automatically, tutorial information can be read on tombstones at various points in the first dungeon, allowing the player to go back and review them. Reading them will give the player additional experience points.
  • Monster locations, collectible drop rate revised. Revising monster locations has been done to make encounters more random and improve game performance. Certain collectible drops which were extremely hard to obtain have been made slightly easier to obtain.
  • Changed player character motions. Attacks follow user input upon finishing previous action. The motion for attacking has been changed for some weapons, and some new weapons have been added. The player is no longer knocked back by incoming attacks.
  • Revised EXP gain system With the introduction of “camping”, EXP gain has been revised in the following manner. The player must gather Evil Souls from enemies. Note they will lose the Evil Souls they currently possess if KO’d. When the player sets up camp or returns back to the town, the Evil Souls they possess will be converted to EXP. (EXP cannot be lost.)
  • After completing the game, it is possible to return to the last dungeon at any time, since the player will return to the town after viewing the ending.
  • Added single-handed mace and double-handed mace. A single swipe with either reduces stamina by 100%, but with greatly increased attack power. With the single-handed mace, it is not possible to perform a shield bash, however the shield will hold up far longer. The sub-action for the double-handed mace is yet to be implemented.

Updates in planning

  • Implementation of sub-action for double-handed mace Follow-up improvements to all actions, implementing user requests and bug fixes

On hold

  • Quest replay Since it is possible to re-enter the last dungeon at any time, please allow us put the quest replay feature on hold.

We are also updating the version from 3.00 to 3.01 to attend to the following bug fixes:

Updates

  • The buy/do not buy buttons at the tool shop were appearing in Japanese in the English version.
  • For some resolutions, the "Mouse Sensitivity" option was cut off on the options screen.

We hope that you continue to enjoy Dungeons & Darkness!
