Awaiting the next major version, due to feedback from eager supporters, a beta branch has been added. This beta branch will be both a considerable upgrade from the current main version, and it is also going to be continuously updated with new candy as we make it in the following weeks.
NOTE - to avoid any misunderstandings and disappointments:
This beta does NOT include any of the following features from the upcoming major version:
1) Revamped sculpting algorithm (heavily optimized / bugfixes / noise and spots)
2) Shape synthesizer (a simple way to create basic geometric shapes)
3) Multi-object operations (saving many object as one)
We know you are waiting for these, but they are not quite ready for release for a few weeks yet, thus they have not been included into the beta.
However, the beta does include the following:
1) Undo / Redo feature
2) Revamped GUI
3) An experimental desktop based edit mode that starts up if your VR headset isn't found. (This is not meant as a Sculptris, more as a testing tool - however, we'd love ideas and feedback on the potential usefulness of it)
4) Size / power adjustment
5) A vertex mode to edit individual vertices
And more is to come.
Looking forward to your, as always, very useful feedback!
**HOW-TO:** To switch to beta versions on Steam games, right click the game in your library, press "Properties", go to the "BETAS" tab and choose "beta" in the "would like to opt into" dropdown menu, and closing the window. Steam should start downloading the beta. The change is always reversible by going back in and choosing "NONE" in the same dropdown menu - the normal version should start downloading.
