Major Updates

New Unit: Pipsqueak
Tier 4 (Cost: 155g)
Role: DPS
Ranged / Magic / Swift

New Unit: Lumerian
Upgrade Cost: 260g
Role: DPS
Ranged / Magic / Swift

Trium of Power
Every third attack deals 0.3% max health magic ability damage, and gains 50 max health, 1.5% damage reduction, and 5% attack speed for the current wave. Stacks indefinitely.
Pipsqueak, nicknamed Pip, is a straightforward magic DPS unit without any flashy abilities. What you see is what you get.
Lumerian is the game's newest hypercarry who becomes more powerful every 3rd attack!

State of the meta (dev note):
The meta is quite dynamic right now with a nice mix of incoming, king upgrades, saving, power mercs, split sending, and all-inning. It’s intended that some games end before wave 10, though early game all-ins are a bit too strong, which incentivizes safe play.
To improve this, we’re:
Buffing king upgrades
Nerfing wave 6 against the king
Nerfing full eco strategies
Nerfing the two top-performing power mercenaries (Brute and Pack Leader)
How to counter early game all-ins:
Don't push workers when your opponents are saving mythium
If your teammate is being saved on, build extra defenses to cover for them
Apply pressure so your opponents can’t easily save mythium for multiple waves
[Optional] Undercut your opponents by sending aggressively one wave before you expect them to send
Upgrade the king on the wave you expect them to send. It's more important to do this than to send an extra Snail for +6 gold

Full Eco / "Sui"
Implemented a new system for detecting and penalizing players who don't build to hold the wave
Old detection: Hidden with a 1-wave grace period
Old penalty: No leak compensation gold and 20% reduced income
New detection: <50% recommended value and leaks 85%+
New penalty: 50% reduced mythium generation for that wave's battle phase
This new system has the following benefits:
A better, more consistent balance lever that can be easily tuned
No more 1-wave grace period, which was being abused
If you make a mistake and forget to build, you can rebuild due to leak compensation gold. The old penalty made it largely impossible to rebuild, which forced you to continue to full eco
Transparent detection
While we still want to support unique strategies, full eco has become too strong and polarizing.
Masterminds
We believe in incremental changes. Masterminds are largely substitutes for each other, which means if one mastermind is slightly better than another, it takes the lion's share of the pick rate.

Miner
Starting gold: -15 --> -16
Very high pick rate and overshadowing Castle as the premier scaling mastermind.

Scrapper
Scrap: Sell percentage: 85% → 90%
Low pick rate and win rate.

Stash
Decreased Stash growth amount on waves 12-21 by 2-3%
High pick rate. Encouraging players to Stash strategically a bit earlier, rather than using it primarily in the late game.
Legion Spells

Executioner
Execute threshold: 13% (6.5% for ranged) → 14% (7% for ranged)
Slightly low pick rate and win rate.

Magician
Mana regeneration: 0.46 → 0.44
Slightly high pick rate and win rate.

Titan
Health: 1400 → 1450
Slightly low pick rate and win rate.

King
Upgrade Spell: 5% → 5.5%
This change is intentionally conservative, as not long ago when Upgrade Spell was at 6%, we had a very income-and-king-heavy meta.
Additionally, the extreme cases are being addressed this patch (wave 6 all-ins and full eco).
Pro tip: Beyond the early game, an extra king upgrade is often more valuable than +6 gold from a Snail.
Fighters

Chained Fist
Damage decreased by 11%

Oathbreaker
Health decreased by 1.8%
High pick rate and win rate. Three price points makes Chained Fist better than other tanks.

Atom / Nucleus
Health decreased by 4.5%
Very high pick rate. This nerf makes it more important to have tanks with Atom-oriented builds.

Pollywog
Attack speed increased by 1.7%
Slightly low pick rate and low win rate.

Sunfang
Health and damage increased by 1%
Not rewarding enough compared to Howlers.

Fire Elemental
Damage decreased by 3.6%
High win rate.

Spectral Scallywag

Reworked Unyielding Spirit
Health gained per stack: 10 (doubled on waves 11+) --> 6-23 based on wave number
Damage gained per stack: 0.5 (doubled on waves 11+) --> 0.3-1.1 based on wave number
This smooths out Scallywag's power curve and makes him less unexpectedly strong on wave 5. Weaker on waves 1-5 and 11-17. Stronger on waves 6-10 and 18-21.

Sacred Steed
Health increased by 2.7%

Pegasus
Health increased by 3.6%
Damage increased by 1%
Low win rate.

Honeyflower / Deathcap
Attack speed decreased by 2%
High win rate, and one of the strongest openings in the game.

Ocean Templar
Resonance: Missing health regeneration: 3% → 3.25%
Low usage and win rate. Adding more power budget to Templar's ability.

APS / MPS
Attack speed increased by 2.7%
Slightly low pick rate and win rate.
Mercenaries

Brute
Damage decreased by 1.9%
High usage rate, slightly high win rate.

Safety Mole

Safety Aura: 12% damage reduction, -10% damage → 15% damage reduction, -12% damage

Pack Leader
Leadership Aura: 15% damage, -18% damage reduction → 15% damage, -18.5% damage reduction
Shifting power from Pack Leader → Safety Mole.

Ogre

DPS decreased by 35%
New ability: Rage

Rage
Every 10 attacks, becomes enraged, gaining 50% attack speed and 20% lifesteal, and deals 1% max health damage (0.1% to the king) for 5 seconds.
As a relatively expensive power mercenary, Ogre deserves a cool ability. Ogre smash!
Waves

Wave 6: Rockos
Impale: Max stacks against king: 3 → 2
All-ins on wave 6 are strong, particularly in low MMR.

Wave 12: Mantises
Health increased by 1.5%

Wave 13: Drill Golems
Health decreased by 1.4%
Shifting power from wave 13 → 12.

Wave 15: Quadrapuses
Health decreased by 1.8%

Wave 16: Cardinals
Health increased by 1.9%
Shifting power from wave 15 → 16.

Balance Watchlist
The dev team is constantly monitoring game balance, between looking at data and listening to community feedback. If anything is being more closely monitored than usual, it will be listed in this Balance Watchlist section. For this patch, the following are on the watchlist:
Crab Warlock - We're aware this unit is underperforming in high MMR
Fiesta - May be strong after the leak gold changes to wave 1 last patch
Lock-In: Random - May be strong

Improvements
You can now hide your country flag in the loading screen and when connected to the game server by toggling it off in Settings (must be toggled before the game starts). Note that country flags will still show up in leaderboards and other places.
Royal Guard's Radiant Shielding stacks now get saved for match history builds
Stash art improvement
Pinging in certain spots on the map show in chat now (Lanes, Gate, Leak Area)
Fixed Safety mole and packleader scaling in giga mercs (4v4)
