There's almost nothing that's completely new this week, I'm afraid, mainly changes to the weapon stats, as well as some fairly important bug fixes.
As expected, I don't think the rocket launcher is balanced very well, from my first guess at it's stats. My impression is that it's too hard to hit with. You might not get this impression always in free-for-all, since you can land opportunistic shots against people fighting each other and not paying attention to you, but what I found was that if you're trying to use it against someone who is paying attention to you, it's virtually impossible to hit them.
I've also bumped up the damage a bit on the shotgun, SMG and laser, since a number of people have told me they think the time to kill is too long at the moment, and I feel inclined to agree. No doubt I'll tweak this more in future. The changes here are fairly subtle anyway, so quite probably the damage could stand to be even higher.
ADDITIONS:
-Added a shock sound for the electricity room in "Core", and the CTS sphere.
CHANGES:
Rocket launcher changes:
-Increased blast radius to 2.5m from 2m
-Increased rocket launch speed to 12.5m/s from 10m/s
-Increased rocket acceleration to 10000m/s^2 from 6000m/s^2
Shotgun:
-Damage per pellet to 6 from 5
SMG:
-Damage to 15 from 14
Laser:
-Damage per second to 125 from 100
BUGFIXES:
-Seems like I completely broke the homer gun when I was making the rocket launcher...somehow. It now homes again, but I had to guess at the original stats, so I don't know for sure if it's balanced the same now. That said, I think it was hardly balanced anyway.
-Pressing shift while entering text in the chatbox will no longer result in a kick.
-Fixed a bug where kicks would be registered against the place a player was standing before they died. Sounds bizarre, I know
-Fixed a bug where the electrical beams in "Core" would do too much damage to non-hosting players, generally killing on the first touch.
-I'm also pretty sure I've fixed the issue where the CTS sphere would damage a non-hosting player, then damage them again once they were clearly not touching it anymore. This issue was a bit random though, so I might just have not seen it since by chance.
-Also possibly fixed the issue where dead avatars go rigid and don't move. Pretty sure I've been under the impression that I've fixed this before though, so the same stands as with the above issue.
