The current weapon set has been long overdue improvement. Asides from the minor reworking of the laser and SMG a few weeks ago, most of the weapons have barely changed in over a year, since when I was prototyping ZGA. Anyway, it's got to the stage where I think working on the weapons is a high enough priority, so this week I've added a rocket launcher, into which I've put considerably more effort than I did with the old weapons.
That said, I'll be amazed if the rocket launcher is anywhere close to balanced, since it's very difficult to estimate how easy it'll be to use on a moving target. Do let me know if you have any observations with regards to it's balance.
Anyway, one other, very minor, change I think I should draw attention to is that chat is now bound to T by default, instead of C. I don't think it'll change from C if you already installed the game though. I mention this because I can see it could cause confusion if existing players try to communicate outdated controls to new players.
ADDITIONS:
-Rocket Launcher! And about time too. It's available to pick up in all the maps with no Homer Gun and has replaced the Homer Gun in "CTS_One". With respect to tactics, I think it'll be very effective against targets on a floor, due to it's splash damage, but almost useless against floaty targets, due to it's slow projectile speed.
-The railgun has a new sound, courtesy of Deika. Deika's also given me some other sounds which I can use in ZGA, as soon as there are suitable weapons for them. So thanks very much Deika!
-Added a some text above the "start match" button to try and persuade server hosts to actually press it! If you were unaware, the server host is responsible for setting a score limit from the in-game menu, then pressing "start match" to remove the "game not in progress" warning.
CHANGES:
-The chat key is now T by default rather than C. I don't think this will change the keybinding if you already had the game downloaded though. You may wish to rebind it to T manually. In any case, be aware that this is the key new players will have for chat by default.
-Weapon symbols in the inventory HUD are now more transparent when the weapon is empty, to make it more obvious.
-Updated the brief game mode descriptions in the in-game menu. They referred to the advanced grapple control controls, which are no longer default.
BUGFIXES:
-Stopped multiple explosions spawning for the homer gun, on clients. The explosion that does spawn will quite often look way off from where the projectile is, if there was no lock on target, though.
-Removed a possible cause of crashing. No idea how regularly this would have occurred for anyone, but hopefully that'll reduce the frequency of crashes for some.
-Fixed a bug where non-hosting players would not be throw back from the electrical beams in "Core" on contact. This generally resulted in more damage from the beams, since the character model remained touching them for longer.
-Fixed a bug where damage effects would spawn on teams in their own spawn rooms. No actual damage was applied though. I think I must have introduced this bug with the last update.
