Hi all,
This week we've released a version of the new Deceit, which incorporates the core gameplay changes that we've developed through our early access testing (including a further update today with more areas of the Asylum now available!). We have been very happy with how the majority of the changes have turned out and now have the gameplay in a great spot for our full launch. However, we are aware that the metagame (character levelling and interfaces), general user interface, tutorial content, website and community involvement are not up-to-scratch for the switch to transition to a non-early-access launch on Steam. Naturally, there's also a load of polish we'd continue to like to work on (animations, graphics, interfaces) as we continue to update Deceit. We will now continue to push weekly or bi-weekly updates as we work on these.
It's most important to us that we take a few more days to polish each of these aspects so that we can grow the game most effectively when it is featured by Steam and other platforms on launch. We will be dramatically increasing our community management and marketing efforts over the coming days, so it can be clearer to you what to expect from our weekly updates from here on out, and it is clearer to new players how to get involved.
We're sorry for the delay pushing the button to bring in more users, but we have already begun scheduling in content creators for next week, and we are confident that we can build up the community with increasing effectiveness as the game progresses. We won't give an exact date for when the launch will be until we are 100% confident that we have everything in-place for launch, but we can say that we have done the vast majority of the work over the last month, and if you have any questions, please get in contact on Discord! We'll also be updating our website and Steam community with a lot more content over the next couple weeks as part of our investment community and marketing.
Thank you to everyone who's supported us and given us feedback during the early phases of Deceit, it's been a very ambitious project with a very unique idea and totally new engine platform, so we've come a long way in less than a year, and we intend to take the game much further over the next few weeks.
Finally, we will be announcing dev play sessions multiple times a week starting next week, at various times of day, so stay tuned for our Twitter or Discord announcements for more of these, and for upcoming streams & videos!
