Hi all,
Now that we've fixed the unexpected issues from launch day, we know there's still a lot to do this week in two areas -- making joining and leaving games smoother, and making communication better.
Thanks for joining us so early, and we really look forward to the improvements we'll be bringing for the Halloween update. We appreciate that the game feels early in development, but we're confident that we can do a lot to improve this now that we've broken through the hurdle of getting the base out.
JOINING/LEAVING GAMES
Over the next couple of days we'll be pushing a number of fixes to make sure the following are addressed:
- Party system has some issues meaning you need to restart your client in many cases to join a party successfully.
- When a game ends, you can sometimes end up stuck in-game and need to alt-f4.
- Death cameras don't work so you are stuck at black screen if executed, we will be fixing these.
- If you have to leave a game because a player didn't join, you are sent back to the click-to-continue screen instead of being re-queued straight away.
By the end of the week, you will also be able to begin queuing for another game whilst at the death screen. :)
COMMUNICATION
We will be introducing in-game voice chat, and some UI tweaks to make it clearer to a new player what certain things in-game do.
ADJUSTMENTS TO GAMEPLAY
We'll be increasing the effect of bullets against terrors, and making some tweaks to certain objectives so that they are even more useful to innocents in the dark.
We're also making the top floor more useful, so games don't fall short, and reducing the ability for terrors to multiple execute innocents too early in the game.
We'll post updates on our community forums as these are rolled out. We hope you'll at least check back at the end of next week when we're all the way through our first week of updates! :)
Thanks again for supporting us right at the beginning of early access, whilst the game still has a lot of room for improvement. We hope you enjoy what we're going to do with it over the coming months.
