Hello everyone, I'm liujiajun, the developer of Yani Again.
Welcome to Yani Again.
As usual, I'll just write down whatever comes to mind and share what I've been working on this month.
The Second and Third Areas Are Complete

The biggest progress this month is that I completed the game's second and third areas.
They are currently themed around a graveyard and a haunted house.
The overall color design was inspired by Lavender Town from Pokémon. I have always liked that kind of quiet atmosphere with purple tones and a slight sense of mystery. I hope players can feel a completely different exploration experience when entering this area compared to the forest.
I will continue adding more mechanisms, enemies, and hidden routes to these areas.
Cannons! Cannons! More Cannons!

The new mechanic I had the most fun making this month is probably~~~~~cannons.
There are a lot of cannons placed throughout the map.
Players can jump directly into the cannon, then get launched to a specific location.
They are not only a way to travel faster, but also help connect routes that would normally require a long detour, making exploration feel smoother.
Of course, I also plan to design some race tracks and puzzles around the cannon mechanic in the future.
New Enemies

Besides the new areas, I also added several new ranged enemies.
They will actively attack the player from a distance, but they are quite fragile and will be defeated with just one hit.
This is still only the first version. I will continue adding more types of enemies in the future, giving each area its own unique identity.
Bug Fixing~

Besides adding new content, another important task this month was: Fixing bugs.
Including, but not limited to:
- The cursor always appearing in front of the character.
- Enemies changing color and never returning to normal.
- Mysterious invisible walls appearing in certain areas.
- Entering a door and somehow coming out from a completely strange location.
And many more bugs where fixing one problem somehow created two new ones.
Bug fixing definitely took up a lot of development time.
But every problem solved means I am one step closer to the Playtest, Demo, and full release.
Finally
The overall development of YANI AGAIN is still progressing steadily.
Next, I will continue working on new areas, bosses, mechanics, and more exploration content, while also polishing the parts that are already completed.
If you are interested in YANI AGAIN, feel free to join the community discussion or add the game to your wishlist.
Every suggestion, comment, and wishlist adds more motivation for me to continue building this world.
Thank you for reading, and see you in the next development log!
