Hi everyone!
Since the last playtest, we’ve continued working on DepthLoot and wanted to briefly share what will change for the next test and the upcoming demo.
New Progression
Progression will become less linear, with upgrade choices that will let you develop your character in different ways and shape your playstyle.
Two Playable Characters
You’ll be able to play as two characters with their own unique traits, offering slightly different approaches to exploring the dungeon.
New Biome and Room Generation
Part of a new biome will be introduced, and dungeon generation will become more varied — rooms will no longer be limited to simple rectangular shapes.
Equipment Bonuses
We’re adding a new equipment bonus system to make items more meaningful for your build and create more interesting combinations.
Merchant Improvements
We’re reworking the merchant’s offers to make the available choices more useful and provide more interesting options for progression.
Quality-of-Life Improvements
We’re also adding key rebinding, localization for multiple languages, and a number of other smaller improvements.
And, of course, Bug Fixes
The previous playtest gave us a lot of useful feedback and data, so we’re also fixing reported issues and continuing to polish the game.
This isn’t the full list of changes — for now, we just wanted to give you a quick look at how DepthLoot has progressed since the last playtest. We’ll talk about some of these systems in more detail later.
We’re currently planning the next playtest for the second half of September, but we’ll announce the exact dates a little later.
